I was planning on throwing a nearly new set of TI flats on it. I have them on my Fender and absolutely love them.
I've tried a DS'd P bass with TIs and really loved the tone. Too bad I can't get along with their low tension.
I used those for a while. Deep tone, a little darker than regular steels, great strings. If they're not bright enough for you then try the Ernie Ball Cobalts. They're higher tension than standard steels.
The small ones are Single Coils, the bigger ones are the discontinued humbuckers. You can get single coils in the large housing too. There is also the new Vintage Chisonics, which are single coil, and only come in large housings because of the magnet size.

See, I love the tension on the TI's. To each their own though. I will have to try the Sadowsky Black flats too though I suppose.

Disappointment day 
The new Buckeye Burl 44-94 was supposed to land today on the FEDEX truck.
Turns out it spent the day still en route from Florida.

That's a crap sandwich without the bread... Bummer.
If FedEx Ground, I'd bank on Monday for delivery. If FedEx Home Delivery, you just might be in for a treat on Saturday.

I switch between 34" and 35" so much (and have done for the last 10 years) that I don't notice the difference anymore. The only difference I notice is the supertight B-string on it Don't play 35" but have thought how much different could it really be? With the exception of the extra string and maybe a little more of a stretch below the 5th fret, but then again with the 5th string why would one play below the 5th fret anyway?
