No problem, glad I could turn you on to them! George Porter is one of my favorites. He played a very well-loved '60s Fender P for decades, but since discovering Lakland, he always seems to be playing that bass. (Granted, he might have "retired" his baby, not sure.)
Cool, I would like to catch one of those Sweetwater fests. Not in the cards this time, maybe next year.
If you get in the car early enough, you could "swing by" the Lakland shop, too.
Seriously, if you do get the chance sometime, it's only four hours and change from Detroit. The crew over there is really great, if you set up a date and time to visit they're very accomodating.Sick sick sick, my friend. I'd proudly rock every last one of those.

I'll say. I got my first Lak via a trade a month or so ago and I am loving it. It's now my main bass with my main band, and just does everything I ask at any point on the neck. And this ain't just any old neck. 35" fiver ...
I've got "glamour shots" of all of them individually, but they are still on the camera's SD card... I'll post them when I get a chance.

not a great pic, but I play my Lak P 5 in my main band and my Fender P 4 in the "other" band. It's just what fits each band. Both great basses but the Lak is #1 on my list. Not sure I'll ever need another bass. (Of course I'll get one, though.
)They do! Now I will say, it's not a big place (one big room and a couple smaller ones), so the "tour" is pretty short. But it's a very cool and fun place to hang for a while. They almost always have instruments to play. And if you like those skinny-stringed instruments, they make some neat guitars under the Hanson name and have those on hand as well.Now that would be something! Do they do factory tours, then? Also, nearby are Bass Club Chicago and Chicago Music Exchange, which are each great stores--BCC has the boutique thing covered, while CME has an incredible vintage collection.
If you come to town, let me and Doug/basspraiser know, we're the welcoming committee. I am lucky enough to live close to all these places, and Doug uses it as an excuse to come into town.

So this is a long shot, but I've found myself missing my Laklands. There is no one in here with a pre 2000 55-94 Deluxe that's interested in a Trade is there? Also Doude did you ever sell Jade?
