Sublet, I'm not sure it's as easy as reversing the function of the push/pull. I'd imagine when the pot is pulled out, it's opens the power circuit. It may be possible to install a micro switch/toggle in series with that circuit to allow you to do the same thing. As another option, maybe using a TRS ( Stereo type 1/4" ) plug at the Instrument end of the cable without the "Ring" being tied to the "Tip" or " Shield" terminals. Worth a quick test at least to ensure you get a signal from the instrument. If that works, you won't need to modify the bass, just change the cable the other 5% of time. Certainly worth the test however.

Or you could take the knob off and put a rubber grommet under it so it won't push down.

Awesome rig!! I want to snag a minty Mesa 400+ at some point.
Did you recently pick up the 44-94? I was considering getting one that was selling new on ebay from a dealer for a nice price...looked just like yours.

4-94 in the practice room! this is my first US lakland. super light, ridiculously low action and its LOUD! so far I'm most impressed with the J bass tones.

ah ha.
I had been eye balling a 44-94 that looked to be that same color...drop dead BEM board...brand new ....some dealer had it listed on ebay for a sweet price.
I chickened out however, as I had recently picked up the buckeye burl 44-94.
Common sense prevailed for once.

Beautiful bass! That Amber finish on a deluxe top never ceases to impress. I honestly think that the body shape of the 4/55 series basses has to be the best ever for me. It's big enough to feel like a man's bass, but refined enough to be comfy, and with absolute complete access to the entire fretboard, what's not to love. I will always respect and love Leo Fender's designs, but the one thing he got completely wrong to me is the upper access on the fretboard. I want Lakland to build me a P/J in a 4-94 body. I'm thinking strongly of putting in the request to see if they'll do it.

If it's loaded w/ LH pickups and pre, it'll do an impressive P and MM too! Bartolini guts have their own flava but are not quite as good at doing the 3 classic Leo F sounds.

Thanks, I love the body shape too! But it had to grow on me, as did the bridge shape.

Thanks, I'm toying with the idea of a Stingray style pickguard for it. I'd never drill holes in the bass, so it'd be taped (double-sided) on. Maybe a white one w/ an orange power T for when we are playing for sports fans. Go Vols!!

When I first bought this bass a couple years ago, I owned seven others from other brands. One by one, I sold them all. Never have I bonded with an instrument like I have with my Lakland. It's an amazing instrument.
