IIRC, Beaver said that they asked for a couple of specific "custom" options for a few basses and Lakland complied.

I Just got my 55-02 Deluxe last night. I have to say I really love this bass. It is exactly the tone I wanted to add to my arsenal. NBD is always a great day!!!

It's that maple fretboard.

If you're not a P bass guy (me), the 51 style single coil in the sweet spot will give you just enough nasty spikey attack that you'll forget you're playing a boring ole P bass.

I should clarify... I love SC Ps!!

At $2400 retail it's not budget, but it is no frills. I'm strongly considering selling plasma.

Working, traveling and trying to make outdoor time to enjoy the whopping 3 or so months of summer here in the northeast.
I just have not been doing the TB thing very much.
Nor playing my basses much for that matter

More into the BBQ, Sam Adams and the pool at the moment...hahaha!!

IMO the cherryburst over quilted maple is the nicest "standard" finish offered by any bass in the 5502 price range. Gorgeous.

I agree....I was ALL SET to order a cherry burst and then Dan agreed to make an Amber run....so I went that way instead.

You get 1/2 of a cookie. It's a skyline, but I have never seen another in this color with the b&b neck or the concentric knobs from the factory. As far as I know it was the only one like it that has been through Bass Central from what Beaver has told me.

Owned a skyline JO about 4 or 5 years ago that had the concentric knobs and was told it ordered that way. At one point I think I heard they could actually be ordered that way, but can neither confirm no deny.
