My only experience with Texas was from a bus going across the country. All of a sudden in the middle of the night a huge lightning storm "erupted" - came out of nowhere. Arcs of electricity everywhere and the sky was blood red, no rain - just lightning and thunder. That was going across the pan handle in mid Summer. That was enough

Wimp. The cheap price of living and no state income tax, among other things make the humidity a minor inconvenience. No snow, rarely freezes.

Ha! I'm a Florida native, so I know all about humidity, but that was just plain nasty. At least in South Florida you get ocean breezes and a lot more scenery--no income taxes there, either. But I still prefer Chicago for various reasons.

I've been to Houston, College Station and Austin. Very limited experience, but Texas just hasn't been my cuppa tea so far.

I just pulled the trigger on a sunburst Skyline Hollowbody. I tried for days to convince myself that I don't need it (and I don't). But in the end, I was powerless and unable to resist.

Whaaat?! Apples and oranges, my friend. The Ft. Lauderdale airport is certainly major--nearly 2 million residents in the county and tons of tourists/cruise people=lots of nonstop flights. And I bet it is literally 10 times the size of the Austin airport.

We went to dinner at one of the best German restaurants in the country (Karl Ratzches )...food was excellent....

There was a Harley Party on the same block......lots if cool bikes and a band that sounded pretty good.

I wanted to check it out after dinner but my daughters wanted to go back to the hotel to swim....oh well......

my fastest Lakland deal yet: Shoreline 55-94 deluxe meets interest before it is even delivered, sold 2 days after it is in, and an early 4-94 is bought. Huge BEM on neck, rare booking FLAME maple top, low serial # (331). Great condition. 'Older' type Bartolini, but a very saturated, compressed sound, more agressive than that of the LH-3.


It is GOOD!

short story shorter, a guy was given my phone number. He wanted assistance in choosing his first 5-string. From what he told me, the 55-94 was an option. So then I hauled some good 5-strings from around to A/B/C etc., and then the 55-94 arrived, and he said he liked it best, so...

Can someone point me to (or describe here) the Carl Pedigo scotch brite / orange oil technique for necks?

I'd also like to know what is, and what is the equivalent of Scotch Brite. Prob'ly not Whiskey
