Its blasphemy here, but I LOVE Duncan Quarter Pounders in my passive basses (44-60 and 44-64). They have a bit hotter output with the tone all the way up, but when you roll off the tone, you get a very thick vintage sound. On a jazz, these pups are very responsive to your attack and are great for almost any style. The amp and cab have a huge roll with the pups too. The QP's sound killer with 12's. I use Aggie DB212 and DB112's and either a Genz Streamliner or an Aggie TH500 depending on how I feel that night. Bassists in the crowd are usually pleasantly surprised when ask about my pups.

Oh, yeah, the QP's sound wonderful with flats!!!:D

The QP's I had a while back in my old jazz were great pups!

The one's I have for sale, but I just put them on hold pending payment :D

Delano's have excellent clarity, they let the instrument shine through without coloring the tone, so it really comes down to the wood and strings. Great passive output as well.

I enjoyed the chi sonic single coils much more than the stock Hansons on previous DJs I have owned.

I now have humbuggering chis on my 44-07, and they are fantastic.

But I have to say my favorite J-style pickup thus far is the Nordstrand Fat Stack, but they are not on a Lakland. I understand those are pretty low output, so you usually see them paired with a pre of some sort (mine has the Aguilar OBP-3).

I had Lindy J's in an old ash maple JO Skyline which were very nice. I always thought those would be wonderful on an alder/rosewood jazz. But now I have 3 single coils housed in standard Lakland MMJ casings with 3 volumes and a tone. I haven't had a lot of time with an LH3 pre, but honestly I can say I've got all of the tonal options I could ever want!

NBD!! Actually, it was a couple days ago, but just getting around to a phone pic now. I got her set up to my liking today, and WOW!!! I like!

I have to say, I am incredibly impressed with this bass. It was the sweet, dripping, fat tones of a classic hollowbody, but you can still dig in and make her growl like a more modern solid body bass. It has a very good foot in both camps

Oh yes, Lakland HBs are great. The Chis really shine in them, too. Congrats!

Our band "The Experience" is doing our annual Heritage Fest show on this coming Saturday at Grafelman Park, along Fifth Street, just north of Main street (Route 72), in West Dundee.

The show is a nice mix of secular and modern Christian Music.
