The innards of the CS4s are exactly the same as the "chrome surround" CHIs...so I would think they would sound alike....I have not played them myself...

PBG had a ice blue metallic USA Joe Osborne w/ narrow chi's and the stack knob control lay out that called my name... loudly and repeatedly... alas, someone had more $$$ than I did at the time and it went home with him, but I STILL remember how that bass sounded and felt...

I fall into the modern=scooped with sizzling highs school and that was definitely not scooped or sizzling. It was thick and syrupy... throaty, tons of bottom, and present, but mellow highs... But everyone does have a different sound in their head...

Like the Neo Punch's versus the Vintage P pickups... When I heard the Neo Punch I described it as the P bass for people that don't like P basses... it was... just "more"... If the CS4's are like that I will definitely give them a shot.

what bass are you talking about that was thick and syrupy? the osborne with narrow chi's?

Isn't it the same one from last year that they presented to Geezer? There were a lot of close up photos from that. I do notice this one has a matching headstock.

Doesn't look the same. The one that I reported has a lot more inlay work on the fretboard, along with the matching HS. The pickups are EMG in the signature too.

The 50's Precision guard and the skinny metal cover plate is my all-time favorite guard! It just screams class...

Lee's decade turned out awesome with a 50's guard on it!

Got my first US Lakland BACK today! After selling it for...who knows why, like a year ago. Pff. Glad it's back!

Album with not really great photos, but you get the idea!

It arrived in the most CRAZY BOX EVER. As in, not a cardboard box, but the guy I sold it to made a coffin out of plywood for the dang bass to ship in! WOW!

So I get the thing...and decide that I can't throw it away. So my business partner and I turned it into a coffee table for our shop! Woo hoo!

Now this is what I call COOL! Pics!
