My 44-51 about 4 weeks away from completion! :bassist::hyper:

Is that contoured body or slab? Sometimes the glare and reflections plays tricks on the eyes.

Congrats! I also want to thank you for contributing to my G.A.S. What model Lakland is that and can you please describe the tone? It is gorgeous...great lines!

By the way...AWESOME coffee table too! Geez, how much was shipping with the weight/size of that crate?

Got my first US Lakland BACK today! After selling it for...who knows why, like a year ago. Pff. Glad it's back!

Album with not really great photos, but you get the idea!

It arrived in the most CRAZY BOX EVER. As in, not a cardboard box, but the guy I sold it to made a coffin out of plywood for the dang bass to ship in! WOW!

So I get the thing...and decide that I can't throw it away. So my business partner and I turned it into a coffee table for our shop! Woo hoo!

Now this is what I call COOL! Pics!

Lakland Decade...comes stock with Chi Sonics

It sounds -similar- to the chis, but deeper rather than mid-punchy that you get from the chis. I really really like the chi pickups, and have a set of alnico chis in one of my decades.

Yeah will do for sure. As far as the colour, the 2 tone burst I asked for wasn't even on their (already extensive) list for available finishes.

Really? It seems to be the same as lpcarter's bass sunburst. Maybe they just left it out by accident.
But in any event, I'm extremely picky about sunbursts. Getting the right balance of the black, red, yellow, etc. Lakland nailed it.
Are you going full on 54? White pick guard and maple? Or how about tort pick guard and rosewood, hmm? With a beautiful burst like that, maybe no guard or clear. You have really given me GAS. I might be as excited as you about this bass. :hyper:

Go to the bottom of this page to see the finish options. They use Pat Wilkins and he can really do anything...so it's a matter of, is it a crazy custom finish that Pat would have to go out of his way (in a sense) to complete? Or is it something easy that he could nail?

But to streamline it and assure that the cost of the bass on Lakland's end is exact, they have only certain finishes available. They list three tone sunburst, but it's no surprise that they had Pat do two tone.

I know they've turned down custom colors for people in the past, but sometimes they approve custom colors. For my custom color Lakland, I had to be the point person with Pat to assure that everything was right. If it's a custom color, and Lakland is the point person...and then the customer doesn't like it...it's a big mess. It's much much easier to just use preset color choices.

VERY COOL!!!! Congrats Lee!:hyper:
