Agree! Did an outstanding job on my 44-02. So much so that it moved up in the rotation to #1. If I were giging, or if I’m going to a jam, I would take a double gig bag and my 44-02 would always be one of the 2 basses in the bag.

Hey, hasn’t someone, at some point in time, had a Tbird pickup equipped Lākland? I seem to recall seeing pics. I’m currently building a P with a bird pup and curious as to how many Lakland’s have left Chicago with the beautiful chrome rectangles?

This was a special order I had done a couple of years ago.
See! I did remember wrong. The other one had two lipstick pickups and a standard P pickup.
I love it!! I’m very happy with the way it turned out! It has Thunderbucker Ranch pickups, roasted neck with an ebony board. Sounds absolutely killer!

Oh man, that is so cool! Love everything about that. It looks like it has some of those 44-51M options like the contoured body and jazz width neck?

Returning this one to GC due to a couple of issues. According to Lakland, it left in 2019 (7-18 neck date) with a single Novak bisonic in the neck position. A previous owner hacked out the rout for something else and there's a pro install second BS at the bridge. The current bisonics are of a later date and not a matched pair. The neck is now a BS/DS. The truss rod was maxed out with the strings tight against the board. That settled down but there's around 1/2-3/4 of a turn left. There are a couple of weird dings on each side of the horns- weird because they're obviously dings but cannot be felt, like they were filled with something clear. I think the top may have been refinished, considering how clean the bridge pickup rout edges are. If nothing else, it was definitely touched up in the neck area. . I I'd far prefer that pickup in the P sweet spot or just a single on there. All the strings I tired I couldn't get the E sounding like I liked or as good as the other strings. Neither pickup can be flipped to have poles in the other direction as the mounting holes were not drilled in the correct position to allow it. Previously, I've had a few Dark Star and Bisonic basses. Overall, an interesting idea for this bass but sadly, it just isn't the best it should be. If it sold at a "good condition" price like it should have been (was listed as "excellent") it could be a worthwhile project for someone but don't wait on GC to do the right thing. I've only seen that from them once on a returned instrument with issues.

LH-3 battery connection question. Somewhere in the past a previous owner wired this LH-3 for 18v. I am happy enough with the standard 9v with easy single battery access so I am cleaning things up and returning to the original state. For reasons unknown they had this yellow wire spliced to the red battery box red wire, essentially just an extension, that seems unnecesary. Looking at the wiring diagram I see the red wire would attach where this yellow wire is. But, am I missing a ground wire? Diagram shows one, but that connection point looks untouched.
