I have a question about a bass pot of my 44-94 with Bartolini preamp.
It seems to me that it starts adding low frequencies at the very end only, the rest range of adjusting does not change anything. Does anyone face this? Is it normal, or I need to advise with a tech? This pot is 50k (liner).

Hey Marcel, just to be clear, I was referring to some threads I saw in Miscellaneous on TB recently complaining about stuff supposedly not moving--I wasn't putting you on blast.
The used market got crazy high starting in 2020 because many were staying inside (as much as was feasible) and buying instruments. Fender had a record year in 2020, for example. Admittedly, things have cooled off since then, but I don't see good deals out there--still a lot of high asking prices. I think we would agree that $4k for a used 55-AJ, which can be ordered brand new for $4740, is a pretty crazy price! $3k is still on the high side IMO, at 63% of retail--at least compared with the market prior to Covid. And yet it was gone in a flash. I'm curious to see how long it takes things to get completely back to normal.

I don't know, something tells me that this is the new normal. With some US Laklands going north of $5k these days, and Classics occupying the $3k range, I don't think we'll ever get back to the sub $2k US Lakland used market.
But I agree there is a sunken cost effect going on.. people paid the high prices for their new and used basses, and are trying to unload them without losing too much, preferring to hold on to them if they don't get what they think they are worth.
very nice, love that color. Question though how do those pickups sound different than a regular single coil? I tried a fender in a store with one of those and it was much more subdued and less bright. Is that the kind of vibe these pick ups give off?
No, just with a foil pickup. I'm sure it's different than the Chisonic, but probably in the same ballpark.

Well, as of right now I can't answer this. When this J-Sonic came to me it was as a fretless with fairly new pressurewound strings and I only was able to get it out live to test for one job. But I can say in that configuration there was no shortage to brightness or clarity. I look forward to testing in it's current fretted with Super Bright rounds state but I have no expectation that it will be in any way subdued or less bright. The few videos that are on YouTube for this model bass bear this out although none of those are really good quality vids. But the brightness is very evident in all of those, sometimes seemingly too much so, at least as the videos come through.
One thing I find interesting about the Chi-Sonic history is that these were inspired by the Swedish Hagstrom Bi-Sonic pickup from the 60's. Not a mfg or pickup that gets a lot of discussion in the history of modern music.

I am a dots fan personally....never cared for blocks at all.
I've had 2 basses retro-fitted with those pickups.
Loved them both.
How/where did you get the neck???
I was fortunate enough to find this complete excellent condition 55-60 neck listed in the TB classifieds a couple weeks ago. Not something I see often and may be teh first I've ever seen. Lakland will direct sell replacements necks as well but currently do not have any B&B versions available.

So… this happened today! Thanks to my guys at #Lakland and #Aguilar. There isn’t another one in the world like it. That Lakland Basses neck with that GORGEOUS top and the modern Gospel/Jazz tones I was looking for. Like a Lakland and an F-Bass BN5 Deluxe had a baby together. A really beautiful baby!

Roasted Maple neck, Roasted Maple fretboard (I love the contrast in color between the neck and fretboard!) Ebony Dots.
Here’s where it really gets interesting… Aguilar OBP-3: Volume/Blend/Mid with a switch (400hz/800hz)/stacked Bass/Treble and Aguilar Super Doubles
All black hardware (duh you can see that)… DR Medium Light High Beams tuned 1/2 step down (Bflat, Eflat, Aflat, Dflat, Gflat).
AFAIK it’s the only Lakland to leave the factory with Aguilar electronics.

Congrats, super nice!! So this bass went though Sweetwater rather than diect from Lakland, may I ask? Again, congrats on a stunning build!
