And the money could be better used on upgrading camera gear for the business.
New it sold not long ago at BC for $4,320 plus shipping.
I am only asking $2,950 shipped and insured!!!!!!!!
It is in brand new shape and under lakland US warranty!!!
Ivory Lakland case...never took plastic off the damn tuners...still as new as the day it was shipping out of Laklands doorway.
I have seen well used 44-94's here selling for the $2,500 range that have been around the block, altered and owned by 3-4-5? guys...
This bass is a steal for the price...

.....by the way, never been to a Lakland gtg before. What is good gtg decorum? 1 bass, 2 basses, EVERY bass? Do people bring amps? Will Lakland have rigs? So looking forward to this!
After setting the Glaub up and doing some more experimentation, I actually find the Fralin to be plenty bright now- the main difference is really just the attack envelope of the two basses. The Ric punches really stoutly and percussively, where the Glaub has a sort of pleasant "give"/compression to the attack. Different horses, but they both work really well in the music I'm playing!
I'm pretty excited about my first Lakland, and I could definitely see more in my future! Trying to fight the urge to mod mine with a second pickup as well- though I'd probably be inclined to add an extreme neck bound pickup ala Ric (maybe a Chi-Sonic). That Ric neck position adds so much of the flavor I've been loving lately.
As far as the Ric vs Glaub neck comparison- my Ric is an early 4004, so it has a much more "Fender-esque" neck profile than the standard 4003, and most importantly for me has a standard string spacing spread at the bridge (the lack of much tapering of the string spacing from nut to bridge of a 4003 kills me). The Lackie seems to have a flatter profile, and does feel a bit more comfy front to back- though the slightly slimmer Ric neck has really become my standard at this point. They both set up extremely well- with the Ric a bit flatter without buzz. The feel of the Gluab really impresses me though- I find myself really drawn to it more and more!
sorry it is such a long flight.....tis a fun place to go to and hang out....not spending $$$$ is an issue at times,.
no need for amps.....just bring as many as you feel comfortable bringing...I usually bring 2-3...

Although, with that gloss black finish, I predict much wax on, wax off.
I was told it was built for a Lakland employee for himself. It's a US shorty neck on a Skyline body. Man I forgot how hot Darkstars are. Really low slinky action. Of course it plays and sounds fantastic.
BTW - I have had great success with Meguiars M205 Ultra Finishing Polish and I have tried many many polishes for black gloss finishes.
