Well, I proceeded to make my own pickguard for the first time. I know it ain't much but it's a shill I didn't have that I now do and I hate farming these sorts of things out if I don't have to. I had most of the tools I needed and the couple I didn't have were easy to get. So here we are. My DJ5 dressed up a bit differently. I didn't love the stock vintage pearl as much as I thought I would and with the white Delanos was thinking that a brighter white pearl might be a better option. You be the judge. I do like the aesthetic overall though and the original pearl white has certainly yellowed over the years adding to the slight contrast.

But first...

Looks great to me!
Good job
I love it

If anyone is looking for a Skyline Hollowbody (34” scale) with Chi-Sonics, Guitar Center has a decently priced used one in Indiana. I owned it for a few days, but returned it to buy a US Hollowbody off of Reverb.

Did not notice any issues during my brief time with it. Could use setup. No case, but the store sells Roadrunner bags that fit well (bought one before I took it home prior to returning the bass).

Only photo I took while I had it.

Something I need to try...like you, I probably have most of the tools necessary to roll my own but I have never really tried it.

Nice job!

Thanks. Especially with the DJ5 guards that are just not readily available and can have fit variations between instruments. It was fun to actually get completed. I has that template drawn and rough cut for months but never happy with any potential router tabel setup I had or was thinking about. I finally got that sirted and gave it a shot after watching many YT videos on the subject.

The actual PG material from Amazon was surprisingly good quality.

The US made replacement came in today. Not the best photo, but here it is. Will have to post better photos later.

US one is Barts with flats. The Skyline I returned as Chi-Sonic singles with rounds. While I prefer the Bart/Flat combination, I may eventually pick up another one with Chi-Sonic’s to run rounds. Fantastic bass. Thanks @_jojo_bass
