Sounds like a great plan... Makes too much sense....I think the trick is adding more basses to your collection, that way you minimize wear and maintenance overall
Yeah I've owned several Stingray's in the past with the gun oil treatment on the back of the necks and I never did anything with them that I can recall either. I certainly don’t intend on doing anything to my Lakland’s neck other than wiping it down with the same music nomad ONE guitar polish that I use on the body.
On a side note I am pleasantly surprised at how great it sounds in passive mode. I figured with no passive tone control it would sound weird and probably to bright. Other than being low on volume output, which is easily solved by disengaging the input pad on my amp, the bass sounds perfect. Full, deep and not to bright at all. No VTC required.

Now I'm conflicted on which bass to play for our next gig. Played smooth, sat well in the mix. Really happy with the purchase of the 55-60 honestly. No hesitation about putting the 55-02 in the shop now, I'm well covered.

I loaded up on 5 strings over the summer including two Laklands. I need to move one of them, both are listed for your perusal. The 2004 JO5 and 2025 55-94 Custom Dragon Skin. I'll likely keep the one that does not sell. My other keeper is a Lull P5. I am a long time Laklander with a 2011 Glaub that I adore. The other 5's that I tried were the new import Dingwall SP-1 and a Fender Precision Pro 2.

Yeah the plan was to bring a handful in then selectively pick one to keep. I’m at 6 basses and want to get to 4. P with rounds, p with flats, 5 string, and one short scale.Sorry that you " must" get rid of one!!

55-94 orientation question. So, I've been playing passive fender type basses and have a nice pedal collection and board that I use at church. The 55-94 operates very differently with all these pedals and seems to want to just be plugged in direct and go. Anyone see a need for a preamp pedal with the 55-94? What drives seem to work well? Even my compressor sounds less compressed, perhaps unnecessary, on the 55-94. Pedal advice appreciated.

Switched off my preamp pedal while using the 55-94. Already sounded great by itself. For drive pedals, i use zvex basstortion and it works well with the bass

FB material? Love the body color. Not your run of the mill color.
I have you're bass in "Fretless" nothing like Lakland's Tri Burst IMHO Your's looks great with the maple neck. I use orange oil ( at Lakland's
recommendation) to clean the neck and a bit of Zymol wax to preserve it. Just my take. .
