I like the way the P and J work together.

I'm more of a P guy but the J at the bridge fills in the sound.... Like the growl it adds.

I personally like the PJ better than a straight JJ bass .

To me the P just sounds fuller when soloed.

It also (IMO) adds to the versatility of the bass

Soloing the P is silent..
No hum.

I also like the way the body sits better ( I sit when I Play) and a P balances better than a J body.

Id say get it... Especially if it's reasonable... If you don't like it you should be able to sell it easily enough

Unexpected NLD!

Thanks to a post by MIXBUS and some quick action on my part, I am the owner of a 2006 cherry burst 5594!

This was posted on guitar centers website as a 5502.

It is definitely a 5594 and very light.

It has a couple of dings on it and a couple of very light scratches but nothing that is over the top bad about the finish.

The fretboard is Birdseye Maple. Not very figured but definitely has some nice figuring to it

I definitely have to have Carl take a quick look at it though because as I was playing and the volume dropped out to nothing with no warning but then it came back full strength.

Not quite sure what's going on but should be easy to have Carl fix it.

It's also a color that I've often been after. But never had.

It has been a while since I've had a 5594 with a maple neck and it definitely sounds different than anything else I have. In a nice way.

Definitely brighter than the rosewood or other fretboards that I have!

We will have to see if it stays in the stable very long but so far I'm very happy.

That definitely was quick action on your part. Seems like a serious bargain for a 55-94. I am sure if you decide to pass it on from your stable you'll find plenty of takers.

Amazing Doug, fast on the draw, got the prize! Congratulations, so worth it :) Looks in great shape, have you played it out yet?

The 44-64 PJ Custom arrived today - new old stock (2021) so got a good price on this, with 2 sets of strings and a gig bag. Needed a bit of dusting off and the fretboard was a bit dry, so cleaned it up, conditioned and setup, and it was raring to go. Still exploring the PJ tone combos, very fun and like the old school P sounds I can pump out, then add some Jaco J spice and mix it up.
