I like the way the P and J work together.
I'm more of a P guy but the J at the bridge fills in the sound.... Like the growl it adds.
I personally like the PJ better than a straight JJ bass .
To me the P just sounds fuller when soloed.
It also (IMO) adds to the versatility of the bass
Soloing the P is silent..
No hum.
I also like the way the body sits better ( I sit when I Play) and a P balances better than a J body.
Id say get it... Especially if it's reasonable... If you don't like it you should be able to sell it easily enough
