Yes, in my 44-02 , put in Bart pups with John East UniPre 5. It has sweepable mids which really give the mid range much flexibility.
I've played this one for going on 30 years - it is here for life.

Yep….finding a fretless 44-02 is near impossible. I did luck out finding a lite weight bass here on the classifieds. Just recently I found a new all maple fretless neck. I prefer ebony or richlite for a fretless board, but am quite surprised how much this maple board sings.
Damned handsome. I do feel fortunate to have found mine, especially like new at 11 years old.
