Sometimes that is the "only option".....[emoji3] I often want to hear something when on the road. And that is all I have.... Hate it but whatcha gunna do?
I know....too much to travel with....I already have too much junk when I travel ( various adapters....tape measure....flashlight...safety glasses...full sized mouse...etc.)

I have a pair of earbuds that would blow your mind. They are no, over the ear noise canceling headphones, but they are definitely amazing. The fold up in a case smaller than a credit card.
Need some direction.....any advice on where to pick up a pickguard for a 5501 now that Jeanies is out of business?

Haha, I warned you. My band runs in-ears which is why I have them, but I use them for personal listening too. I can say with confidence that the sound quality between these and my old pair of buds is like the difference between a MIM Fender and a custom US Lakland.
The main benefit though is hearing protection. I can hear every instrument very clearly at a volume level that is really low (10-20%). I no longer have ringing ears after a show.

Chi-sonic humbuckers in the hollowbody are switchable to single coil?
Is that the case for both US and skyline?

I took out the 55-01 and 55-02 to do the pre-weekend gig check. I lowered the action on the 55-01 a tad as it still had the factory setup, checked the electronics, all was well. I plug in the 55-02 and nothing. Not a sound. I pull the volume up and the passive mode works. I fiddle with the cord. Nothing. I swap the battery. Nope, nada. I open the control cavity and wiggle the battery wires, no change. I check the input grounds and is a sign of life. I trace it down to the exposed ground wire that is trailed from pot to pot. It had somehow moved and grounded out the pre on one of the lugs on the bass pot. I loosened the pot to adjust the lug positioning, moved the wire a bit and put some electrical tape between them as a precaution. All is well. Thank the gods for trouble shooting skills!
