I picked up a cool piece of a wood called Hormigo, which is in the rosewood family, over the weekend. It still had a strip of sap wood on it. I cut it so that I got an edge of sapwood to use as indicators on the knobs. I like the way it looks with the Duck.

Man, I wish I'd be smart enough to trade that gig bag towards knobs for the Sea Monster!
Speaking of gig bags....do any of you guys have an older Levy's gigbag or the older black plastic hardshell cases you would like to get rid of? I am looking for one of either of them.
Just want to pop in and say that I really love my Hollowbody 30....It is super unique sounding. Short scale, hollowbody and "non Fender pickup spacing". It checks a lot of boxes for me. I have always wanted to add something more unique to my tool box like a Harmony batwing, Guild starfire, Fender Mustang etc. this checks most of those boxes for me.
Thick sound of my 5501 is a nice change from the articulate sound of my 5502. I have a hard time choosing which to play.
I'd thrown in either one with my Glaub!
So you would throw in an extra hardcase or gigbag? I need one for an existing bass. Either way your lovely Glaub is a tad out of my range sadly.

I thought so, but the feel is different. The action is set as close to identical as I can get it on all 3. The 5594 and one 5501 have flats and the other 5501 has rounds, but I always feel the edges of the 5594's board a tad more.....could be I'm holding it differently for some bizarre reason.
