Lakland Owners Group #69

Come in Doude!! I used to only play 6ers. Take it from me, if you can't do it with 4 (I'm considering a 3 string) then something is wrong man!
Don't use my G string often ( [emoji33] that doesn't sound good...!!!). But I do use it enough for octaves etc.....so I need at least 4 strings.

The reason I use a fiver is the we do some songs in Eb Db etc....need the ability to easily get those notes in multiple octaves...

My wife and I went to see Nick Lowe in concert tonight, and his backing band was the fabulous Los Straitjackets. (Great show!) No, there were no Laklands on stage, but we did run into JP and his wife as we were leaving.:)
Forgot to mention: I believe I saw Pat from Wilco saying hi to JP as we were leaving, but it was tough to tell as it was crowded. I expect to see at least one Lakland in action tonight as we happen to be seeing Wilco in concert!

Just showing off my rare CAR w/maple board 55-01. One of the first 300 built. Originally had Gotoh style tuners. I replaced them with US Hipshot Ultralights. The preamp has also been upgraded to a US Bartolini 5.2AP preamp. Bass has extremely low action. I have tried other pickups including Bart MK5's and Nordie Big Splits. I ended up putting the MK1's back in. I may try the MK5's again in the future.

I have the same pre and mk1's in mine and it sounds great. I keep toying with changing the pups, but why mess with a good thing.
