Chi-sonic humbuckers in the hollowbody are switchable to single coil?
Is that the case for both US and skyline?
Is it a push pull on the volume?
Do they switch independently or both at the same time?
Which coils engage in single coil mode the outer or inner?

I wanted to bump this to the next page....Any idea?

Just a few days past the quoted 3 month mark since I gave the Salmon P bass body to Carl to have him make a replacement neck for it. Hoping to maybe have it soon!!

I have humbuckers in my US hb. But I installed them, and didn't do the switch...in humbucker mode they are just too delicious to switch to single mode. U.S. basses used to be a toggle, not sure if they are still doing this. Skylines utilized a pull pot. I have humbucker chis in my US short scale Decade, and they use a pull pot. I think the active coils in single coil mode are the outer ones. Closest to the neck and closest to the bridge. But like I said...I never go there. Hope this helps!

These are Chi-buckers in MM shells. This bass has a switch to go to single coils. But, singles sound so weak, I never use em.

I love that bass. Definitely not for me (although in the late 90s it would've been when I wanted a Carl Thompson like Les Claypool!) but I'm happy such a unique Lakland exists and is in the hands of a cool dude.

I agree. I like the sound, but they are definitely thinner sounding. I almost always combine them with a full humbucker when I use them because they benefit from the additional bigness. They are far away from the sound of a traditional single coil, and with my ebony fretboard they get BRIGHT!
