Not that I'm in the market as I found a nice older 4-63 (Dual J), but it's nice to see that they are offering that model again. I don't get along with the shape of the Fender Jazz body, but love a JJ set up and the 94 body shape, so for me it's perfection when paired with the Lakland neck :)

It was with his wife that I had the major issue with lately. I honestly can't imagine that she can keep it going with the customer service they provide.

I still hope that one day they will give us another Decade option. It would be nice to have some options for those of us who don't like matching headstocks and blocks and binding. But after 6 plus years (are whatever it is) of the same exact singular color option I don't see it happening soon. And if it does it will probably be a matching headstock w/ blocks.

I had been skeptical and honestly did not expect it to taste any better than any other good bourbon, figuring the price and marketing were all unwarranted. I blind tested it against 4 Roses single barrel and Basil Hayden, both of which I love (along with Maker's, Wild Turkey single barrel and Hirsch). I was totally blown away. The Pappie instantly and obviously smells more intense and fragrant in the glass (caramel in spades!) and although it bites like bourbon should , is smooth and silky, almost like a good cognac. Amazing! Now I am screwed 'cause I may not be able to score another bottle for a long time :)

Love to see several LOGgers are Bourbon fans.....maybe we need a road trip to Bourbon county.... : )

Where did you get it???? I JUST looked up the price....a bit (OK more than a bit) out of my price range!!! $100 is about all I go fro sipping bourbon. $150 for a good scotch.

You need to get into some Bourbon Old Fashioneds.....Those are awesome as well!

There is a place in Schaumburg called the White Chocolate....a friend took me there...he said they had a "good selection" of whiskeys and bourbons...try over 300!!!

oh man...that was a tough night to stop trying whiskeys!

Sounds like a bourbon wave guys!? forget the surf boards, get your glasses!

PS - a buddy knows I am from Wisconsin and got me some good Wisconsin Brandy for my b-day...just made a killer Brandy old fashioned....

I am "kind of" with you....love bourbon in the winter (well...OK in the summer as well with crushed mint, simple syrup and a touch of soda)....and martinis any time (GIN Only please...)...usually Hendricks or Blue Sapphire BUT there is a gin made literally made across the hall from Carl that is a new favorite...if you can find some Letherbee...excellent!

Well, the 20 yr was pricey at 169., but that's way less than what some people try to resell it for later in the year, when the small volume of production has been bought up. I bought it to drink, not flip, and considering that a good bottle of whiskey can last a while ( when there's a good variety in the cupboard), the price is a lot less than some of the bottles of wine I love that vanish in a couple of hours.

I cannot remember if I promised a whiskey recipe....but my Manhattans are standard (4 to 1 bourbon to red vermouth with a dash of bitters and a cherry) and my whiskey sours are 1:1 whiskey to fresh lime juice with real maple syrup to taste and a salted rim :)))

really? I was seeing $900 to $1500.....$169 is doable!

And I agree...I always have 2-3 bourbons (Rye, bourbons, etc) and a couple of nice Scotches around..the "every day" and the sippers.

This was what i got for my B-day:

I guess I have friends that
1) know me well
2) like me!
