Ok..So I just scored a 44-64 for under 800.00 did I get a great deal? Ive never owned anything but Fender and Squier so im new to Lakland, it ships out tomorrow..
I would say you got a solid deal depending on the condition.
And don't worry, a good portion of LOG members used to or even still do play the brands you mentioned - I however do not and Lakland is the primary reason for my "conversion" to better made instruments

Ah so you scored the Teal Duck, very nice, yes I would definitely say you did very well in your first venture into Laklands and got a good deal. Congrats!

Just got my first Skyline, a 55-01, and it's reasonably safe to say that after its maiden voyage last night, I am beyond stoked.

Keep me posted! I've been thinking about doing that with my 55-64. The used bass I bought had a Delano installed and it is really nice - still, I'm planning to play the Roscoe fretless tomorrow AM and the 55-64 will be along for backup.

I used the 55-01 and DJ5 last night with just the VT Bass Deluxe. I love the way everything sounds together. The 55-01 and DJ5 are probably my favorite gigging combo out of all of my basses. The 55-02, Duck Dun, and 64 P clone haven been touched for The last few shows.
The DJ5 is quickly becoming my favorite. It just has that mojo. This is the best sounding stock Lakland Jazz configuration that I have played. I dare not mess with the pups or electronics.
The mid switch that I installed on the 55-01 made it so much more versatile. It reminds me of James Genus Foderas on SNL. The ability to switch from 800/500/250 on the fly is more helpful that I thought it would be. I can't wait until the ChiSonics are delivered. I'm curious to hear how they sound with the Bart NTMB.

Anybody know where all of the Skyline 55-64's are hiding? I've been searching for one for a couple of weeks now and nobody seems to have them in stock. I've only found one and its direct from Amazon, though I'm a bit nervous because it's the only one they have left...
I'm waiting to hear back from my sales rep at Sweetwater but I may have to shoot Brian or Leo an email in the morning and see what's up...
I just scored a 44-64 for $525 in like new condition off Craigslist. Sounds and plays great. This is my 3rd Skyline and it fits perfectly with my DJ4 and my 44-64 PJ

Kind of reminds me of the old joke where there was an elderly couple at a restaurant. They were sharing their meal. The woman was eating but the man was just staring at her lovingly. A guy goes up to the couple and says " it is great to see you looking lovingly at your wife while she is eating but why aren't you eating?"
