Lakland Owners Group #69

YI do have to admit, I have been busy going overboard with effects all weekend. I have a B3 that I have come to dislike and am switching to a pedalboard setup. Right now, it consists of a Korg tuner, EBS MultiComp and UniChorus and a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes deluxe. I REALLY like the VMTD and may have to buy some more Darkglass - if you are susceptible to GAS, like I am, you may want to stay FAR away from Darkglass. I'm thinking of getting their compressor and the B7K. Anyway, I toned down the drive on the VMTD and it worked really well at church yesterday. We went to no amps and IEM's a year ago and I wanted a warmer/tubey sound that the VMTD delivered. I still miss my pant's legs flapping, though. How can you play bass and not have your pant's legs flap????? :roflmao::roflmao::bassist:

Dan K

I've owned a VMT, VMTD, B3K, and B7K over the last 3-4 years and settled on a B3K and VMTD pair. All fantastic pedals, but ultimately I sold my VMTD and B3K when I got a Source Audio Bass OFD. I won't go so far as to say I can get the OFD to sound exactly like B3K or B7K, but I can get pretty stinking close to the VMT or VMTD, and the ability to have two footswitches was huge (for me anyway). I was then able to buy another three pedals with the difference in $ of the Darkglass gear to the SA gear.

So, I gather up today's mail and to my surprise this little item was in there. But why? Anyone know why these get sent?

Congrats!

You are a supporting member of the LOG.... One of the benefits of being a supporting member is the potential to win "stuff".

The LOG has random drawings for strings every month and other items ( such as pickups etc) afew times per year.

That is why.

Well, that's a very cool thing then. Thank you. What a pleasant surprise today.

Hi Lakland group - if anyone is looking for a 55-14, I have one for sale in the classifieds. Bought it last year and it's a fantastic bass. Unfortunately, I've been having CTS issues related to my job and can't play a 5 anymore.

Sorry to learn this. Seriously, look into b6 supplements for CTS. Has been proven to greatly improve symptoms to the point of not needed surgery. Invalid Link Removed

I will try that, thanks.
Good luck! Here is testimoney on doctoryourself.com about the use of b6
ITAMIN B6 FOR CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME

Nancy Watson Dean (age 90-plus) of Rochester, NY writes:
“I have just experienced such an amazing relief from this condition, which came upon me about a year ago, in the shape of hands tingling and hurting more often as time went on. I presently realized it was carpal tunnel, when shooting pains hit both hands.
“I knew Vitamin B-6 would help, and it did, but only a little. So remembering a paper by the Texas doctor, John Marion Ellis, M.D., who said that large amounts didn't seem to bother him in any way, I pulled out all the stops and increased it to 200 milligrams 4 times daily. I
also stopped eating salt. The carpal tunnel disappeared.
“I am thrilled, out of pain, and the hands are growing stronger by the hour.
“This is a very widespread ailment. Perhaps the maintenance and attacks of the condition are entirely individual: just find the amount that 'cures' you. Wouldn't the medics hate that idea!”

Thought I'd share a vid of me and my skyline 55-64 growling our way through a hastily thrown together Grace Potter cover.
Singer/Songwriter gigs are fun.

I gotta show next Friday. Gonna play my new 55-14
Out For the first time. I'll try and get a clip. Can't wait
