Yep - they were installed when I got the bass and I also got the original pickups. I do like the Delano's. I'm not sure on the flats on the bass even though I like flats (TI flats on the 55-94) and am thinking about putting roundwounds on the bass.

I do have to admit, I have been busy going overboard with effects all weekend. I have a B3 that I have come to dislike and am switching to a pedalboard setup. Right now, it consists of a Korg tuner, EBS MultiComp and UniChorus and a Darkglass Vintage Microtubes deluxe. I REALLY like the VMTD and may have to buy some more Darkglass - if you are susceptible to GAS, like I am, you may want to stay FAR away from Darkglass. I'm thinking of getting their compressor and the B7K. Anyway, I toned down the drive on the VMTD and it worked really well at church yesterday. We went to no amps and IEM's a year ago and I wanted a warmer/tubey sound that the VMTD delivered. I still miss my pant's legs flapping, though. How can you play bass and not have your pant's legs flap????? :roflmao::roflmao::bassist:

What's your take on the B3? I have a very small pedal board (Keeley comp, TC mini delay/reverb, TC mini chorus) and was curious if the B3 was easier. I really don't play too much that needs a ton of effects at the moment, but I'm looking at feedback on a lot of things in case I need to go in that direction.

Thanks for the GAS warning on Darkglass, I keep thinking about getting one of their pedals, but methinks it would just open a GAS floodgate. At the moment, I have one pedal that I use: Peterson StroboStomp Classic with DI, that's it. I have a MXR MX-87 Bass Compressor as well, but it's been sitting in the closet for the last couple of years - I wonder if it still works? :woot:

Most of my issues with the B3 revolve around the use of IEM's and the hiss from the unit. Individually, the effects are fine and the amps/cabs modeled are fine but having them piped directly into MY ears is a problem for me -YMMV. Using a real bass rig with the effects and models works well but so many of the places I play at are IEM's only so I've gotten tired of only using the tuner section (but it is accurate!). One of the major benefits of the B3 is setting up different patches and switching to them quickly - very easy to totally change the sound of your bass with the Zoom.

Necks feel like butter. Both have slight differences from the other.Besides mods, the only real difference is that the '05 neck seems more straight on both Treble/Bass side, where the '06 LPB has slightly more bow on the treble side, about .012 difference, not much but you can feel it when recording but not when playing live.

I ordered a Black Pearloid guard from Quickguards and I'll post the results of the fit asap. It should be here this coming week. There's a very small gap on the White DJ and i think the new Quickguard will cover it.

#1) '05 White Pearl DJ, Lindy singles, stock passive, US hipshots w/d-tuner.
#2) '06 LPB DJ, Lindy Fralin "Mike Lull" Singles w/raised poles, J-Retro, Lic hipshots-not US

The '05 came to me with all the mods stock from Lakland. The "06 had the non-US Hipshot Lic., no D-tuner, Lakland/Hanson pups, stock VVT controls. The Hipshot Lic product has brushed alum posts/nuts while the US ones are Chrome. I couldn't find a brushed alum post d-tuner to save my life, so I just get a chrome post one.

Here;s a shot of both and my awesome lil-BIG Peavey BAM rig w/SWR loaded Peavey 210 TVX extension cab. Hope you like it. I sure do!

Cool thanks for that. I use IEMs as often as possible, sothat isveryhelpful to understand.

The Delano's were installed when I got the bass, so I really can't comment on the differences from the stock pickups. I do have the stock ones and I may try them sometime in the future. However, the Delano's are a little brighter and punchier than other p-bass pickups I have messed with in the past (Fender, Squier, Nordstrand, Seymour Duncan Antiquity). At least to my memory of them...

I LIKE them - FWIW, I also like the LH3's better than the Bartolini's I had in the 55-94; like the Nordstrand Big Singles in my Regenerate with a Audere preamp...

Cool! I'm dropping my 55-64 (rosewood fb) off at my tech's shop this weekend to have it routed for a J pup too. I plan on keeping mine passive though.
