Bringing these two Carlos to the studio on Sunday! Jazzy R&B stuffs. This is the first project where I will get to see these two just absolutely shine! I like my Ash/Maple Lakie with singles for most of the stuff I do at church and such, but having this low B and humbuckers just kills! Thanks so much Doug! Marriage has been awesome!

....the other 2, not so much. It's been quite a while since giving anyone an update. California was beautiful, but the job we had caring for 3 women with disabilities was very hard. It was not as advertised; we found ourselves being worked 80 hours M-Friday and having to administer medication 3x a day Saturday and Sunday. It wasn't sustainable so we left.

The good news? We just got back to Chicago a month ago. Starting over will be hard but good. We sure did learn a lot! Thankful for the Lakland Family.

The other upside is that now I actual get to play my Lakies instead of passing them in an unused music room!

Yesterday was amazing! I was asked by a friend to record with her band after she booked 10 hours of studio time and lost both her bass player and pianist. She also had a vocalist drop out due to a schedule conflict. We had about 3 hours of practice together and then we went in. I don't know if anyone has recorded at Miller Studios in Pilsen. We had such a great experience. Joe is a pro. Things were so painless. The band gelled. 3 out of 3 basses from that little building on West Berteau were used for the session. Man, what a great day! Will post some stuff when we get it back from mixing and mastering!

I just scored a 44-64 for $525 in like new condition off Craigslist. Sounds and plays great. This is my 3rd Skyline and it fits perfectly with my DJ4 and my 44-64 PJ

Also, I need some help with the bass pictured above. I love it to death, possibly my favorite bass I have ever owned (including my Sadowsky Modern and 55-94 and Modulus) but I have an issue with the bridge pickup having a lot of hum. It hums EVEN when blended 100% with the neck pickup. Shouldn't it hum buck in that position and only hum when soloed? Anyone else have this issue with this bass?

It should not hum when even with the P-pickup.

I Believe it is a single coil so you are right to expect some hum when the bridge pickup is favored or solo'd
