Whelp, I guess I'm solidifying myself as a full-on LOG member now having picked up my second Lakland in very short order (that low "B" is pretty dang addictive!). Just bought this Skyline 55-60 Custom Joe Osbourne from another member. It's killing me that I can't spend more time with it as I was immediately out the door on a business trip shortly after it arrived. Only got one picture of it thus far and have only played it for about 5 minutes. One of my favorite bass players uses a US 55-60 Custom so it's been on my GAS list for quite some time. Can't wait to spend a little time and bond with it.

Really digging its voice - and the Barts are so versatile.

Are the tops on the Korean Skylines maple?

If you look at Lakland Hollowbodys on the Lakland site, it lists the Skylines with a carved maple top.
I was wondering if the pre-sale Made in Korea models were the same build?

Got my blue DJ5 back from the tech yesterday. Had him install the Audere JZ3 pro 3 band preamp and Lindy Frailins.... Love the transparency of Audere. It's sounds like a real hot passive bass with boosted lows and real smooth mids. Can't recommend those preamps enough. Especially for the price. That with the Lindy's is a winner...

Greatest bass out their I've owned mine since 2000. I had a friend who was setup as a dealer. Ah, those were the good olde days
I should have bought 5, but then again, I'm lucky to have the one I have. Pictures below

It was a "factory second" because the maple cap is a bit too thin, so the grain of the swamp ash shows through. I'm good with that.[/QUOTE]
