I'd love to get mine back, bit I have no idea where it is now. The Ducks are special.

Love the black pearloid.

My most recent purchase not a bass, but..2007 Taylor 615ce in Tobacco Sunburst.

PSA- there’s a sweet Candy Apple Red Skyline 44-64 at Dave’s Guitar Shop going for $795 + shipping. Looks VERY tempting.

BTW, NBD for me! My Skyline Ltd Ed 44-60 finally came in the mail yesterday after being delayed by 4 whole days. USPS Priority Mail from Vegas to Sac. Ridiculous.
Will post more later!

Anyone knows if Lakland JO has the same neck profile, as BG with J neck?

Just read this opinion on UK bass forum:

"Also, the neck on these basses is not the same profile as the USA Joe Osborn model. I know because until recently I had both. The Jazz Bass- style profile on the BG PJ basses is a little bit slimmer and faster than the JO, which is an precise replica of Joe's 1960 Fender prototype. The BG Jazz necks are modelled on a 63/64 Jazz profile, the classic slim pre-CBS design. It's also worth mentioning that the necks on these USA Laklands are quartersawn and graphite -reinforced. "

I always thought it is the same so I would like to ask community here :)

I have owned US JO's and BG's with jazz spec necks and never noticed a difference. That said, I have never done a side by side comparision. I am not sure why they would change the neck shape for a smaller production group. Both my Dan era jazz neck Glaubs are thin and fast. Is the poster referring to post 2008 or Dan era builds? Maybe ask Carl?

Necks on my 2008 Custom JO and 2018 BG with jazz neck measure the same within .01 in width and depth.

Congrats on the new bass, can't wait to see it..

Also, understand that the USPS is slammed, very overwhelmed volume wise right now.. plus many carriers chose to stay out a while because of the Covid nonsense.. which in turn leaves the carriers actually working having to carry multiple routes, or help carry multiple routes

USPS lost two of my boxes in a month. Just collected insurance on one.
I use to use them for my leather work business.
I switched to FedEx. They cost a bit more, but they delver when they say they are going to deliver

Sorry to hear that. I used to run a soccer equipment shop on ebay and used USPS exclusively, they were always quick and cheap (this was before the 2018 price hike), but the more I sell guitars + basses the more I’m liking UPS and FedEx. Sure, your guitar will take a week to reach the other coast but at half of what the Post Office charges.

I was genuinely afraid my 44-60 was stuck in a warehouse somewhere in the 115°F Las Vegas heat. It’s no better here in Sacramento either. It got to my house safe and unscathed (and not needing a setup whatsoever), what with very minimal bubble wrap and mostly the Levy’s Lakland gig bag to protect it. It was jammed in a tiny box.

At least Sac stays below 100 most often. It’ll be 103 in the Central Valley when I get to work this evening. 67 in Pismo Beach was nice yesterday! Ha

Speaking of shipping issues:

My neighborhood has had a problem with UPS for months now. I've had 6 packages this year (4 different occasions) dropped off at the wrong place. Yesterday was the last straw, and I ended up calling their customer service hotline and reporting the incidents that myself and my neighbors have had. My last 4 items went to 4912 when my house is 4812. And, from talking to my neighbors yesterday evening, while I drove around looking for my $600 Warmoth bass neck at 8:30pm, the driver has been confusing 8s and 9s for a while now.... dropping off 4920's items at 4820, and so on. He also has dropped off Chewy.com shipments (mine and my neighbor's) at the wrong address because quote: "that house down their always gets Chewy boxes. So, I figured they went there." Yep, that's what he told my neighbor when he was confronted about it, SMH!

Anyways, UPS called me back and said the driver is new and has been notified, as well as his supervisor. Hopefully, this will fix my neighborhood's issue. Next time I have a high dollar item coming, I will use the kid's sidewalk chalk and write big notes on the road, guiding the jack### to my door.
