Here is the New bass I changed the pickups to the EMG Geezer Butlers and changed the strings to some Dr. Black beauties lights. Finally got the neck straight and the action set correctly.

I've been meaning to try the Geezer P-pickups. Any comments on what you get tonewise from them?

Just got my first Lakland today. It's a black Skyline 44-64 with a white pickguard. I didn't even try it with the vintage pickups, I ordered a set of EMG Geezer Butler Signature pickups and installed those. I did a set up on it today the strings came set very high and the neck has a bow in it. So I have been dealing with setting the truss rod. I ordered a silver sparkle pickguard for it from quick guards. Do any of you know a different place to get pickguard for the Laklands? I will post picks after I get the set up straight.

Received my 5502 from Lakland today....neck plek. MAN! I could feel the difference when removed it from the case. It's plays like butter now! If you're thinking about getting your bass plek, I highly recommend it! Also, another big shout out to the great service from Lakland!

I love them so far. I didn't try the bass with the Lakland vintage pups before I changed them but they have a great tone exactly what I was looking for.

So far I love the tone from them. I find they are hot for some passive pups. I usually play an active MTD and when I plugged this one into my amp it was a little louder than the mtd and more bottom end .

I usually play an MTD with Barts and I find they ghave More bottom end and they are hot for some passive pups. I find they do have a vintage tone. And get dirty when you "dig in".

For $100 bucks I find they are well worth it and it only took about twenty minutes to install and I took my time installing them probably could've done it in about ten if I would have tried hard enough lol

Alright all you Skyline modding people... will a set of standard 1/2 ultralights fit the tuner holes on a Skyline? IIRC the lic tuners are metric.

I have had a Lakland with one Darkstar and a Bart pre, a 35" scale 4-76. I didn't dig it. The pre seemed to bring out more single coil noise.

No, the bushing diameter on the standard US sets are too large. I ordered mine from BBG and they had Hipshot send the correct size bushings. You could always go direct and talk with Jason at Hipshot about sending a tuner set for Skylines.
