Lakland Owners Group #69

The white PJ is named "White Lightnin' " (hence the moonshine.....)

It is a passive PJ with V/T V/T.
Here are a few samples of the bass (forgive the bad playing in spots and mistakes):

Nice, Doug! The PJ with flats really works, especially on the first two tracks. Speaking of those two songs, I don't think I've heard this singer before--good voice, gives the group a different feel.

Have you seen the "subtitled" video for the Joe Cocker live at Woodstock version? :D

Hm. That bass has a great voice. I uh... want it.

I've always liked the Cocker version of A Little Help From my Friends best, so good choice there. Good sounds, too.

Just a quick note to brag on Lakland. I bought a new 55-02 recently, brand new, based on some pictures I saw and the weight. This was from an internet dealer. Bass arrived and sounded awful. Not sure what the problem was, but it was very nasal and had almost not top end at all. Emailed Leo, but Brian responded and asked me to call him. We talked for a bit, and he emailed me a UPS label to send it in to them.

When the bass arrived, he said it sounded and played normal, and couldn't detect any of the things I had described. Nonetheless, he replaced the electronics and sent it back to me just in case something was loose and caused the tone to go in and out like that. Bass was back in my hands in just over a week, and it sounds fantastic.

I love Lakland.

The Lakland Event page is up for the October GTG. Really had to think long and hard about joining it, but I think in the end I will have made the right choice.

.....well I will have made it 8 months completely content with the basses I currently own. Being gas-less doesn't last forever, I suppose.

No, Problem...
Happy to save the marriage :)
Lakland club bumps appreciated on the for sale thread as always.
Would love to move this, have to use the funds elsewhere asap.
Wish I had time to play these things...Might end up putting other stuff up on the block soon...
Just no time...
No reason to have all this stuff ( $$$ ) sitting in cases doing nothing. :(

Thank you for being a 4-string player. That fact just saved my relationship.

I'll head over and admire the bass anyway.

I think the courtesy bumps inside of the 24hr window were eliminated with the new TB format. I would be pleased to be wrong about this though.

I have been away from TB for some time. This new format threw me for a loop. Still have very little clue how it all works.
I did notice when a comment is left it does nothing to bump the thread to the front of the heap. :(
Which is a huge bummer...Oh well, it tis what it tis.... Change.... blahhhhhh

If any Lakland club members are interested in the buckeye burl 44-94 we have been speaking of...I might be able to shave a few more $$$$'s off the price to help aid in a sale. I would love for it to go to one of the LOG members.
If interested, shoot me a PM and I can disclose the bottom bottom BOTTOM $$$ price :)
