I saw a really fancy topped Skyline 44-64 the other day on the internet. I didn't know they existed and it kind of looks amazing. Most appear to be 10-11 pounds though. Yikes.

That new nut width really has me questioning calling these 64's anymore. Not one spec matches a 64 Precision on a Skyline. The pickup is more modern voiced, the body is ash, the fretboard isn't rosewood, the radius is 10", and the nut is B width. 
Not that I think anyone really pays attention to what the numbering system actually means.

I got a new 44-02 in natural with Indian laurel fretboard and was thinking of adding a pick guard. I can't find any online. I was thinking of going with black or white pearloid like in the picture. I recall someone posting on here maybe recently of one they had made with no screw holes. It was attached with double sided tape. Can anyone make a recommendation of where to get one? Or if you have one (on a natural bass) post a picture? Thanks!
It's unlikely you'll find the exact same template ready to go anywhere. Your best bet is to send your guard over so they can replicate. I recently had guards made this way from both Pickguard Planet and that thread. Both solid products. I also like the work of Pickguardian but haven't tried sending them a guard yet.
EDIT: I just noticed you mentioned it is not screwed. Then the sky is the limit. You can trace one the way you want it. Maybe covering the lower horn? Or removing it altogether.
I'm going to insert a nostalgia nod to Roger at Jeannie's Pickguards. He passed away a while ago, but you can find his pickguards in many Laklands out there. I'm betting that when you remove yours, you'll find a Jeannie's Pickguards sticker on the back.
ANOTHER EDIT: I remembered I sold a bunch of Jeannie's Pickguards here many years ago, maybe you can get some ideas from that thread.
BTW, I'm curious... this isn't one of the other 44s you had, so you sold both and got this one?

I always asked Leo for 1.6" nuts on the 44-64's I bought, and I know JJ had this on his P-51. Possible that they just got a ton of requests and switched or maybe wanted to do this as a point of differentiation from the big-F?
Well, Big F's top seller P-basses today are the Player Series and they are 1.625". More like joining than differentiating.
Thanks for the reply and suggestions. The picture I posted is one I found on the internet. So I don’t have a pickguard to trace. Maybe one of those places you recommended has a template.
As for the 44-02, yes I got a new one, a 2020 in natural. This should have been the first one I bought that I had been looking at for 3 months. I’m super happy with. It’s in like new condition and sounds great. And was half the price of the 44-94. Here’s a picture of my three.

it’s the body shape. The model names (4460, 4464, 4494 etc) corresponds (somewhat loosely) to the classic instruments they were inspired by.
I’m still waiting for them to produce the 4476 again.

I have 3 Skylines (44-64, DJ-4 and 44-02) and all bodies measure 1.626" and all headstocks are ⅝"
Interesting. So the headstock thickness has always been the same regardless of era but the body thickness might have changed. Are your Skylines all Indonesian?
Yes, all Indonesian. A 2015 44-64, 2017 DJ-4 and 2019 44-02. So all newer years.
This is all just curiosity for me because none of this really matters BUT if anyone has a Korean 01, 02, DJ, etc can you measure the body thickness? I am wondering if all of the Skylines were 1.75 or if it was just the 44-64 and 44-60. My gut says all USA instruments are a common thickness and all of the Skylines are common thicknesses. If I can nail that down then next would be to figure out what period of time the bodies started to be more USA accurate in specs.
It has beautiful grain. But, if/when I want to make a pickguard for an ##-02 bass, I’ll make one shaped like the one on my Carl Pedigo bass.

I just re-aquired a bass I originally had built to order, Lakland #85! 1.5 jazz nut width, Deluxe with quilt top, the ever-popular in the mid 90s Cherryburst, top jack and original Bartolini 9W4J quad coil Bartolini pickups! I am NOT a Bart fan (or Lakland pickups for that matter), but the OG 9w4Js sounded less Bart-like than the ones they replaced. I call Barts "Tone in a Cage". These were more open sounding, IMO.
This bass was built by Hugh McFarland (Where IS Hugh? He disappeared from the scene. I know why he left Lakland, but been quiet ever since.) That neck is pure butter! 1.5 nut on that neck profile? Yes please! I originally traded that bass to Charles Cote for a 5 string, and thr bass was in Florida for a while. It's been played consistently since 1995, so that speaks volumes!

Hugh necks are legendary. Only those that have been blessed to play one will get it. My SN 11 has a 1.592” nut width, flame neck, nitro body paint (the first tealburst Lākland), & the best Bart pups and pre ever made, IMO. I filed the nut for BEAD tuning and it wears EBMM Cobalt Flats 130-95-70-60. It easily has the best B of any Lākland I’ve owned, and I’ve had over 30 US Lakies, majority being 35” scale.
