Lakland Owners Group #69

Might be me,but looks like this 2022 Lakland Skyline 44-64 just got,has a green tint? Might not show up in the picture. In person has a green tint?View attachment 4993432
Yes that’s the color. Thanks for the picture. It’s off white or sometimes called mint. Brian sent me a link to the Sweetwater sight and all the basses with pickguards were that color.

Not to bore you all,but I am trying to bond with the 2021 Lakland Skyline 44-02 with satin finish, and roasted neck. Had a couple 44-02's but they all were with gloss finish. Love the way they play and the tone settings you can get with them. I have had other satin finish basses, but the cherry burst finish always tempt me.

That's the first one I've seen "in the wild"....I saw the first one they had at the factory and had to turn away...it's a madussa I tell ya!!!! Draws you in....

I've seen a few since then...Trying NOT to buy one...Trying NOT to buy one...Trying NOT to buy one...

Love the cherry burst....

But I have a couple "in the oven" and buying one of these would steal money away from previously dedicated cash!!!!

your issue is ????

Used my 4460 on this week’s sessions. Split signal between my TECH 21 VT bass deluxe (running the Sheehan overdrive in front of it) and the Evil Twin tube DI. Everything sounds great and everyone is happy. The 4460 is the best recording bass I’ve ever used. Just wanted to share some Lakland love. Link Removed

I have owned 55-94 in the past...I loved the neck, body shape, look, but did not bond with the 'lektronix. I ended up with a 54 dual J with a pair of Chi Sonics. It has been my unequivocal #1 since I received it. It sounds VERY different from the MM/J active setup.

Sweet color. The angle of the grain really compliments the body shape.

Could be don't have the shine? At least you don't have to concern yourself with fingerprints. Which I have fettish for smudges and fingerprints. I took this in a trade about week ago.

Seeing pics of the new XX-02 basses with the roasted neck and satin finish makes me want to sand down my old 55-02 and throw the neck in the oven for a few hours. I really doubt I would enjoy the results though

I just love roasted maple necks. I've got a Sire P5; it's got the best neck I've ever played, and it's on a $500 bass.

I tell you what, I'm a big fan of these roasted maple necks. Just something about them that really looks classy to me. And I also really dig the satin finish. Gives the cherry burst a softer aesthetic; very pleasing to the eye. My eyes at least.

When you say trying to bond? Does that mean your having some issues or that you're just going through the process of breaking in a new bass?

No issues at all, just cosmetics. Bass is in great condition,no concerns about quality at all. All depends on what kind of finish different ones prefer I quess. Might should have said getting use to cosmetics, instead of bonding. Really like the 44-02's and the way they play and feel.

Your 44-02 looks great in the pics, I love the satin finish and roasted maple neck look. Plus under 9lbs, nice !
