Cleaning Day. Since I can’t find Gorgomyte, I researched Miracle Cloth. Works a treat! Look at that bridge shine and the difference in the fret shine!!

I'm going to have to try that. My '99 55-94 needs a good bridge and fret polishing at the next string change.

Nice touch. Song was really touching, and inspirational. Just lost my daughter of 21 years on 3/31/23 to neuroendocrine cancer (NETs).

My sympathy and condolences to you and your family.

I tried a lot of Lakies in last six months.
44-60 Skyline - great ash JB. Ok, then I've found better replacement for it and the name of brand begins with S and ends with Y. Still I must admit that especially second hand these Lakie JBs are absolute goto for best price/bass ratio IMO.
55-01, my main 5 string with really nice B string.
44-64 - PB, just try. It's a different PBass but very very good.
44-60 US - gorgeous bass. Better than everything in traditional JB family I've ever played. Very special bass to me.
55-94 US Deluxe with Barts - another level bass in every aspect but too expensive for my purposes.
55-02 Skyline I am awaiting to arrive in two weeks hopefuly. I do have some doubts about it but it is probably 2001 Skyline with Barts so it can be different. Hope I'll like it.

I think this was discussed few times and I've read these threads about this topic. No flamestarter, pls.
I didn't find any major differences between Korean and Indonesian Skylines. IMO Indonesian were little bit better because of PLEK but it is hard to tell. I will test it because I'm waiting for 55-02 from 2001 with Barts now which will be different IMO in accordance with pickups characteristics. My conclusion is that there is no far difference between Skyline eras but you can change my mind if you have different experience.

I do not disagree with your premise.
My experience was that the primary difference was Indo manufacturing was more overall consistent “mass produced” factory basses. The Korean manufacturing was more batch production and sometimes they made a very good one, sometimes just good. So the variability adds intrigue for someone looking for “US like quality at import pricing”.

I've never played bad Skyline, all of them were good or even better. Very consistent to my experience.

I agree.

I've had both and both were great IMHO...

Or maybe I've just been lucky

My 2019, 44-01. I had talked to my "rep" at Sweetwater at the time and got it for $800usd shipped. It was a good deal, it's been flawless. 8.7lbs
