I’ve taken the trip into the city to go to the shop a couple times. It’s really easy to drive right past. Parking in front of it is damn near impossible (at least when you drive a 3/4 ton crew cab truck). I parked right in front once but parked a couple blocks away and walked a different time. I believe most parking in that neighborhood is free or by permit. I know I haven’t been ticketed or towed and I don’t have a permit. I don’t know how far you are from the city, but it’s worth the trip. The guys there are really helpful.

There are a set of raised "EL" tracks just next to the building and there usually is plenty of parking on the other side of those tracks
Both of my Skylines, 2012 and 2022 have excellent build quality. I would say that is a rare occurrence. The guys have always been very helpful and responsive to me.

nope, some kind of acrylic. I do have a brass nut on my Aria pro II. Not sure how a brass nut would sound on the lakland
I just removed the string tree to grind it down a bit more.
I’ve never crossed under them. I always turn down the alley right before them. That’s good to know though.
This is interesting. A DJ-4 for sale claimed to be made for and owned by Darryl Jones. Made in Indonesia but no Skyline label on the headstock. Anyone have any info on this? I am not affiliated with the seller, just curious.

Probably a basic question for you all. I've been a Fender guy most of my life. Been looking into Lakland. What's the difference between the 02 models and the 02 deluxe besides the quilted maple top? Specifically for me the 5502 vs. the 5502 deluxe. It looks like the deluxe has Lakland in house pick ups and the regular 02 has Barts. Not being able to play one I'm not sure if that's an improvement or not.

I don't know anything about this bass, but it's definitely the same bass on Reverb pictures and Darryl Jones photo. Looking at the tuning pegs - thy are exactly in the same positions.
Pick ups are the same. The difference is just the quilted maple top.
Is that the only bass of that type made? If not you'll have to be crazy to purchase it.
I have no interest in purchasing the bass. I was just curious. But I’ve emailed Lakland before about basses I have purchased with the serial number and they have given me information about it.
the long serial number is standard for Skylines. The US serial numbers start with the model and then the number, a-la DJXXX.
the first two digits indicate the year made. 2013
I bet Lakland re-finished the face of the peg head for Darryl, with the US Decal, as Skylines do not have a matching headstock (to my remembrance). but did not change the serial number. Either that or they put a US neck on it, but kept the serial number (which I doubt).

Skyline DJs do have matching headstocks, but everything else is correct. I've seen this bass for sale before. It's a Skyline.
