Howard’s Orange oil, & feed & wax. Something like that. Thanks! Perhaps they changed it at one point. In older posts I have seen the official statement from Lakland is that it was tung oil that they used vs the gunstock oil.

I'm thinking of converting my 5502 into a fretless by replacing the neck with a fretless. Does anyone own a fretless 5502 (with barts) and can speak to their experience with the sound? Does this bass do a sufficient fretless sound, or would I be better served by looking at other basses to get a good fretless tone?
Question for the fretless fans: what kind of music do you find yourself playing with the fretless? Are you giving them regularly?
Right now i only have one gig and I'm also the lead singer. So the fretless stays home. No way I can sing and play fretless at the same time. I can hardly do it with the fretted bass.
Same problem for me. I can sing and play fretted bass, and I am very comfortable playing fretless, but I cannot sing and play fretless! Vocal pitch is fine but I loose control of pitch on the bass.I found this out the hard way. Got a fretless, played it non-stop to get comfortable with to the point I brought it to a gig.
…only I’d never practiced playing a fretless and singing at the same time. One of those mistakes you only make once!
That’s a beauty! Nice knobs!NBD! Recently got this beautiful 55-94 as well as the HX stomp. Going minimalist with my board. The 55-94 didn't need much setup or anything. It's a 7358 serial so I think these are the batches 2009-present. Lightest bass I've held ever, lighter than my previous Skyline 55-02 and even lighter than my Fodera Monarch Std 4. Very top quality woods and premium build by Lakland team. Tone wise, it's the same electronics with my Skyline 55-02, so no difference in sound. It's the playability and premium feel IMO. It's like there's a mojo when you hold it. But yeah, I'm a happy bass dude haha
Cheers!

So since fretless bass was brought up, I have a 44-64 P/J fretless. I use it to play rock (influenced by Sting, Michael Been of The Call, Tony Franklin). I used to play only fretless many years ago. So when I started playing again I got the 44-64. I use it occasionally now. Nice to have around and fun to play but I prefer my fretted 44-02 and DJ-4.
So I’ve kept my eye out for a fretless 44-02. Has anyone had both, a fretless 44-02 and fretless 44-64 that can share their experiences? Thanks.

I bought one for my 44-02 through Lakland. I found their prices fair and they offer different color options. Just contact them.Looking for a 55-02 pickguard new or used. Pretty much any color. Thankyou in advance.
I have a Road Runner hardshell case that I got about 11 years ago and been to many gigs with several basses, never any damage and still use it. I use it instead of the leather case my 55-14 came with.I got a clean used 55-02 5 string about a year ago - it is great and I am happy to have it. I want to get a good hardshell case - any suggestions on one that fits a 55-02?
Yeah! Always been a fan of the sadowsky knobs. I ordered it here Love the feel of aluminum knobsThat’s a beauty! Nice knobs!
I had 7495 prior, and I'm pretty certain it was a 2012, so you're probably right in your timeframe. Gorgeous bass!NBD! Recently got this beautiful 55-94 as well as the HX stomp.
