Lakland Short Scale Hollowbody

just saw these pop up on notreble. I'm glad they went with the traditional headstock. I can't stand the "other" headstock on the full scale hollowbody.

Very cool. I look forward to trying one of these out.

Looks like something I'd be very interested in. Hope beyond hope it's offered in something besides the terrible sunburst or black. Otherwise it'd be going to my luthier for paint job.

actually Lakland offered the 5 string with 34" scale, too. Then the request was focused on 35" and the 34" was dropped iirc...

Pretty cool. If Lakland makes it at least it might actually play well, unlike other shortscales.

Plenty of well playing short scale basses out there. You just like making random negative comments, don't you?

I heard today from Rich at Rock and Roll Vintage Guitars in Chicago. They are getting three of the Lakland SS from the first batch to arrive at Lakland. I'm very tempted but I think I have to wait until towards the end of the year to swing one. Hopefully they will be easily available by then. Somebody buy one of these and let us know what you think.

I played a proto unplugged and it felt great,!

Not enough play time for a review though.

I e-mailed Lakland to ask about these and the first batch should ship to stores this week, according to Brian. They will only be available in sunburst. I can´t wait to se more detailed pics of these.

I played one of these at NAMM, very loudly I might add. It was a blast, and of course it played itself. The sound was very similar to the Danelectro longhorn IMO, but with more full sound. I have my order in, just waiting.....

Wow,that is gorgeous! It seems to have style cues from Hofner,Rickenbacker,and Fender,in a very cool unique looking design. This is on my list to check out whenever i next visit a big city. Hey,Markus,whereabouts on the coast are you? (I live on the Oregon coast myself)
