Hi all.
I just signed up for some help/insight. I just purchased a used Lakland 55-02 Skyline Custom bass. It is awesome, however, I have a very specific issue that I can't find any information about. I have been searching for days, and also sent a message to Lakland, but no response from them yet.
When I have the coil tap toggle switch in the middle (both pickups selected), then rotate the pickup pan knob all the way towards the bridge, the D and G strings drop out almost completely. This doesn't happen when I set the toggle the switch towards the bridge or neck, only the middle position and doesn't affect the B, E, or A strings. I read that it may be gunk in the electronics, so I did a thorough cleaning with electrical contact cleaner, but the issue remains. This also happens in passive mode, so I don't think it's an issue with the preamp. My guess is that there's a wiring issue or the toggle switch is bad, but can't be certain. I compared to the wiring diagram from Lakland, and it all looks normal. I messaged the guy I bought it from and he claims he bought it new from Sweetwater in 2020 and made no modifications.
Thanks for your help!
