Laney RB4 buzzing

I use a Fender Jazz in a Laney RB4 and unless the neck pickup and bridge pickup are equal there is a buzzing sound from the amplifier. My settings are bass and treble knobs turned flat and on the graphic eq i have high bass, flat middle and slightly above flat treble frequencies.
The gain and volume aren't too high, the buzzing persists at low volume levels and also seems to be louder when i move away from the amp.
Is this my setting or something loose in the amp or bass?

Its electromagnetic interference from lights, electronics, etc in that particular room. The effect is worse with single coil pickups. Humbuckers are meant to prevent hum by running two specific coils together similar to a J + J bass running both pickups. Try walking up to a cranked SVT with an old unshielded Ric running one pickup. I've done it. SO MUCH BUZZ.
