The Nexus FET is not a tube amp. It's a solid state amp with a tube preamp.

Yes you're correct. I listened to their demo on web site and they talked about it.

tried both laney and peavey. honestly preferred the laney.

Don't know much about their modern transistor stuff but their old tube amps where very well thought of and sounded great after all I used to stand right by one of their PA cabs back in 1972:

I have demo'd the Nexus in my rehearsal studio, it's very powerful, well built and sounds great.
