Large Basses

I'm a biggish guy, around 6'2" with a husky body. Most guitars have always looked smallish and awkward on me, and now basses are starting to feel that way too. The neck on my jazz bass feels so puny and short now, and I miss the days where it felt like I was playing this big, 34" scale instrument. I'm looking into semi-hollow basses, because I love the way they look and sound, but most of them have a 30" scale and i feel like they wouldn't be much larger overall than my jazz bass. So essentially what I'm looking for is a bass larger than my jazz (bonus points for semi-hollow and or extra long scale). Thank you!

I hear you.. for me when I get on a 30" scale bass its like I'm playing a toy.. I would suggest trying a 5 or even 6 string bass with a 35" scale.. if you feel like its puny then your pretty much out of luck lol.. longer scale means tighter low end.. I only play 35" scale 5 strings currently

Yep, the wider neck of a sixer can help with the optics.

Rippers have a large lower bout. Hence the nickname "fat bottom girls" given to the Ripper/Grabber/G3 series of basses.

But the body thickness (1.25") is actually quite thin compared to many basses.

Here is a picture of my Washburn AB-20 next to a Jazz for comparison. Notice I have a felt pad stuck on the forearm area so my arm doesn't get sore from the corner of the body there. This only has the underbridge piezo but I've thought of adding a magnetic pickup and there are other models with mag pickups.

I'm 6' and 170lbs. I had to add a section to my strap to get the Casady down to the right spot where it's really good for posing, but I can still play challenging stuff. I bought ultralites for it, but haven't had time to install them.
