BBQ @ Larry's!!! Stu Hamm had a few and was Slappin da Bess next to the Grill.. Is that what really happened? Wonder what the Hydrives look like.. 
I burned a pop tart in the toaster this weekend. Maybe I should have signed it instead of throwing it out?

i suppose that anything can be called 'art'. i have no strong feelings about it one way or the other, other than i think that you just ruined a p bass' finish with a blow torch.
OP, sorry to sound harsh, but it looks like one of these relic jobs a 14 year old did to his Squier, posted on here for cheers, and gets flamed to DEATH...but since it seems like guys around here know you, I'll back off...

Don't fear the reaper...I'm not going to torch the '59! I already got an offer to display my torched basses in an art gallery in New York...so there will be more to come when I get around to it.

This brand new Precision bass sat on my couch for three days while I worked up the nerve to torch it. I thought this is a nice bass, why do it...and then I said...because it will be cool and that's why you brought it home. So...I did! My technique involved a propane torch and a bottle of Johnny Black. This kind of thing must be consentual so I got the bass drunk first! Pictures don't really do it justice because there is a three dimensional quality to the paint layers as they burn back that must be seen in person!
As I mentioned before this is not a relic, it's not what "might" have happened over time. It's more immediate, it's what "did" happen all at once. Please specify rare, medium or well done!
