I haven’t upgraded to the latest Mac OS (Tahoe?) because I’m leery of issues using Logic. Anyone using Logic done the upgrade? Any problems? Thanks!

I haven’t done it yet, but my iPhone is on the equivalent with the whole “Liquid Glass” thing, and I’m not really a fan. It almost feels like a tech demo masquerading as an update. I find it harder to navigate. I’m usually a pretty early adopter, but I’m sticking with 15 for a bit on my now quite old Intel-based desktop.
I used Logic in Tahoe the other night but it was a someone else’s computer for a simple session. It was unremarkable as in no issues but there wasn’t much to the session, either. I use Seqouia myself. Also on Intel

No issues here, but I'm not exactly a Logic power user, very simple projects. Tahoe 26.2, Logic 11.2.2. Mac Studio 2022 with M1.
I also dislike the new iOS. No discernible advantage and poorer performance on my iPhone 13.

I have a Mac Studio M2 Max with Tahoe and Logic 11.2.2. Great system, no issues.
This. I may look at reverting to a different iOs version. I do not like this at all.
I”ve used Logic on Tahoe for very lightweight work with no problem. Logic 12 is supposed to be released today, as part of Apple bundling it into Creator Studio. They’re pushing its availability as a subscription model (boo), though supposedly you can still pay for it as a one time purchase.

I have not yet upgraded because I am also leery of the consequences. This time around I'm waiting until all the 3rd party stuff I use has updated drivers. Last time I updated my Mac I had to wait 6 months for Native Instruments to update the driver for my control pad so it would work. I COULD NOT CREATE BEATS FOR MONTHS!!!! It was terrible.

Now I just need to figure out how to get my laptop to wake up while closed. Recently got a Caldigit TS4 doc and magic keyboard and monitor. Everything works great except that I have to open up the laptop to get it to operate.

I just updated to LP12. Main updates include improved Sound Library Manager and Sound Packs, Chord ID Feature and Harmonic Intelligence, Synth Session Players, Step Sequencer Updates, Stem Splitter enhancement, Integration of Apple Intelligence/ChatGPT in the Notepad. No updates for Intel machines though. Now you can subscribe or buy outright and apparently this isn't going to change. Student/Educator $3 per month or $13 for standard subscription. Pretty good deal.

I use the TS3+ for years and use it without opening my laptop. it's weird to hear, they broke it in TS4.
are you sure, you have 'privacy and security -> accessories' set to 'always trust' or 'ask for new devices'? the former is insecure for a portable device, but useful for a laptop that doesn't leave the desk. the latter will require you to open the laptop and confirm, you trust your dock, once in a couple of weeks, then it works for a while without opening the laptop. you just plug it in, touch a key on a keyboard or your mouse and it powers on. I do use a wired mouse and keyboard tho.

Side question: What's the point of a "laptop that doesn't leave the desk"? Why not just get a desktop machine?
In case I want to take it with me on a trip. Very rare, but can't do that with a desktop and I can't afford two computers.
well, maybe 'doesn't leave your home' is a more proper phrasing.
I have two docks and use the same laptop on both, as well as sometimes on my knees. in one room it's connected to 2.0 monitors, in another that's 2.1, sometimes I like hearing and fixing stuff from my DAW from one AC set or another one.
if I got desktop machine or two, I'd be borked out with some plugins licensing (year, right, they sometimes restrict how many computers you can have them on).
I've been using Macs for 30 years, I'm currently on Sequoia 15.7.3 with Logic and Live and all's fine there so zero reason to mess with it.
Not touching Tahoe because even months after launch we're still in the song and dance where tons of music software guys have still not updated their gear for the new OS. Arturia, a big player in software synths and effects, still recommends against using Tahoe, which is wild. Which of course raises the question of why Apple does things to its OS on an annual basis that causes such upheaval for music makers.

Yeah, I have it sitting on my Mac but haven't installed it yet, because I have the M3 chip (adequate) but only 8gig RAM (bare minimum for Tahoe). This is how most of the iMacs came a couple years ago, and apparently Tahoe will run but you may dog out on some memory intensive apps, like Logic. What really gets my goat is that Apple did not make the iMac upgradeable, the RAM is soldered to the board. And then they went and flipped the switch, so if you had autoupdate you got it, plus the old installer was overwritten so you can no longer update Sequoia, unless you reinstall from scratch. Sucks.
