nope, Logic updated overnight, without me being on Tahoe 26.x. So I'm all set as far as that goes. I guess it just took a day to propagate.

Interesting that the sound packs seem to be separate updates. That's actually fine with me as I don't want all of the heavy EDM/Dance stuff that is in some of the bigger packs.

And FWIW, I'm going to stick with Sequoia (15.7.3) for the time being. I don't see any overt reason to move to Tahoe 26.x.

The CalDigit TS4? I've had one for two years and yes, it gets quite warm.

Not touching Tahoe because even months after launch we're still in the song and dance where tons of music software guys have still not updated their gear for the new OS. Arturia, a big player in software synths and effects, still recommends against using Tahoe, which is wild. Which of course raises the question of why Apple does things to its OS on an annual basis that causes such upheaval for music makers.

The Arturia delay is exactly why I haven't updated. Kinda spooky that we're on ~9mo or so and no change in status.

upped to Tahoe a few months ago, and I'm super happy with it. Lately I've been recording our rehearsals with an SSL Connex
USB mic, and then using Stem Splitter to virtually separate the instruments/vocals. I'm really impressed with how well it works.

Also learned that even though my Roland/Bass devices don't have official support in Tahoe right now, it's all working just fine

Logic Pro 12.2 is out.

Update includes the following:
  • Spatial Audio: Export to Dolby Digital Plus with Dolby Atmos and Dolby AC-4 L4 (MP4), along with Head Tracking support in the binaural renderer.
  • Sound Library: Includes the "Step Reflex: Modern Garage" pack and brings back Legacy Patches/Instruments/Loops.
  • Step Sequencer: New playback modes (Wander, Shuffle, Random) and MIDI 2.0 data display.
  • Workflow Improvements: Support for game controllers, multitrack selection in the Track Inspector, and enhanced chord identification.
  • Session Players: New synth bass (808, Pump) and chord options.

I did the OS 26 Tahoe update a few weeks ago.. like 6 months after the Tahoe release.

Generally, all will be ok for Apple OS and Apple software like Logic, Final Cut Pro etc. The issues happen with other companies software and hardware products. Ie. a few years ago, my 6 month old Band in a Box broke when I upgraded to Ventura. Grrr.

For this year, I waited until Audient, the maker of my sound interface, released an official statement of product compatibility with Tahoe.
Once they did that I updated.

6 months from now, Apple will release a new OS... sigh. The yearly updates are too much, unless they are seamless and with no compatibility issues. Again, Apple software will be ok, it's the other companies that are getting the shaft. Perhaps it's one way for the big Apple to squeeze other makers, and push customers to stick with Apple only software ...
