Lead guitar does not like my tee shirt design.

ended up giving the shirt to a friend who'd also met JP in Pattaya, when I split from the Land of Smiles

Fender sent me a couple of t-shirts & I gave them both away, because they're white :smug:

Even when a I wear light shirts for Summer, they're cream or yellow, and I've got one neon green one from Bubba Gump.

When I was out in L.A. I couldn't get over how many folks were wearing solid black in the scorching heat. The waitress at Rainbow was serving drinks with a knit cap on :wideyed:

it was 97 here in l.a. today, and i wore a dark grey tshirt and black pants... a knit cap seemed a bit much :D

I wore dark grey pants (jeans) and a black t-shirt in l.a. today. I’d say it would have been funny to walk past you, but a black t-shirt and dark pants is pretty much standard uniform for musicians. We all want to be original, yet we all dress alike! ;)

Thought I'd just post an update on things with this band. We are still using the same design, printed 50 black tees with white ink. Recently printed 1000 stickers and 100 coozies. We have sold 12 tees, but that's including bandmates and girlfriends who purchased. My bandmates don't know how to set up a proper merch table apparently... they bring the tote and set up at a high top bar table. No cardboard or anything to pin up things... so far, nobody is really taking initiative to take turns or anything and it's mostly girlfriends and the drummer standing by. So I will have to have a talk about a couple things with them.

I made it firm that I will either be fully responsible for band artwork and have the artistic license and freedom to do it or we can outsource the work because I dno't have time for shenanigans... all because the guitarist said that he has some ideas and things he wants me to illustrate. He also said we should have a bunch of designs and things, as if I have the time to do all that. I'm fine taking ideas, but I'm only going to do my own artwork when I designate time for it, while incorporating the ideas of my bandmates into that when it works well. If he wanted to be an arteest and design something, he would have to do the work himself. He did once tell me about an elaborate idea that he had and asked if I could do it. I said I CAN do it, but it didn't really sink in that I am not willing to do that, at least not for free. Is that fair?

The extra tees will be great for polishing basses. Don't forget to turn them inside out. While you are at tm the design. I hate to say this but I am not sure how long your band will survive. I would look at dumping the guitar. Either you or him is toxic to the band

This band situation sounds like a freakin marriage.

Edit: I was just reminded of a time when a drummer was fired for overplaying. He sent me this long text about how the singer/songwriter had been playing with other people. He says, “I know he’s been playing with other people, I saw him on Facebook playing with a band last weekend.” Little did the drummer know I was working with two other songwriters at the time. Apparently he didn’t realize we were a band of whores. Bands are very much like relationships. My marriage situation (wife w/kids ‘n all) is obviously closed, my band is a friends with benefits situation till things get serious. Gotta spread the B around ya know.

I'm really not following you... I value my free time and music is not my only hobby or interest, so I prefer to have just one project at a time. My other bandmates are in multiple projects except the vocalist. I'm cool with that...
