Leak? Fender / Squier Meteora Bass

If real, its basically a repackaged Dimension (Factory guy says to foreman and visiting middle management guy "Hey, I found a bunch of boxes with Dimension parts taking up space on the shelves. Should I throw them out?")

If only! And with a Squier price tag, I might be in for one. A couple finish choices would ne nice, like a black-to-white fade.

No one seems to know what the scale length is. Looking at the pic, the strap pin looks to be around the 14th fret. That hints at being a shorty.

Yeah, I was about to say the Meteora line is/was/will be Fender and ask Templar if they meant it as a dig, like this is really a 'Squier in disguise,' or weren't aware of what the actual badge will likely be.

Why don't you ask me yourself? It's not a dig. "Squier" is in the thread title...why?

Don't get worked up about it, I was responding to H K.... Squier is in the thread title because the OP wasn't sure what he was looking at, apparently, but suggested in was part of the Player Plus lineup. His link states "Fender / Squier" and that's prob why he posted it as such. Other posters have made clear it is an apparent Fender MIM PP Meteora. I'm not surprised you'd balk at the $1200 (my guess) price tag given that it is more than double what you'd value this as a Squier.

I really like the Meteora body shape, and have almost pulled the trigger on the Meteora HH multiple times. I also love my Player Plus Tele for its smooth neck and rolled fingerboard edges. All this to say, I'm excited by this model!

However, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Fender active pickups a la the Dimension bass. How do they compare to other active pickups of there? I've also heard some things about loud crackles and pops when the strings touch the pole pieces, so any insight would be much appreciated!

It' a MIM Player Plus series, no Squier.

This was leaked on another forum, grabbed from the Fender Dealer website. Coming in march, in all PP flavours (sunburst, silverbust and "modern Stratoburst" finishes):

There's a lot of reasons for me to not want one of these, but I think they've all been cancelled out by the silverburst finish. Very, very tempting.
