Crazy, I thought Fender discontinued the Meteora line.

 

Fender, please make it a short scale in Lake Placid Blue!!

 

I want one in purple or teal flake.

 

Possible Dimension pickups in a non-proprietary shell?

 

A short or medium scale would be very cool.

 

Darn, I assume this will be 34”, but this would fill my needs exactly in short or medium.

 

Got to echo the thoughts above, medium or short scale would be tempting. I've been after a 32" scale bass..

It looks active, which is intriguing. I'd be happy as long as there is a passive option. A series/singlecoil/parallel option for each pickup would be wonderful, though.

 

I approve of that design.

 

I see a lot of "Is this Fender real or fake" threads around here.
So, is this real or something someone put together, whether it was wishful thinking or just for a joke?
Sorry, but I find it hard to believe Fender would reintroduce a failed/discontinued model as a bass, and even harder to believe they'd go with a color that I've heard nothing but disparaging remarks about.

The link is a normal Shopify product link, which will be the backend for CMEs Web store. A Player Meteora will go down well I think - they seem to be drip feeding the releases over the next few days so probably get official word soon.

 

If real, its basically a repackaged Dimension (Factory guy says to foreman and visiting middle management guy "Hey, I found a bunch of boxes with Dimension parts taking up space on the shelves. Should I throw them out?")

 

I like the look but the offset body shape is a PITA when sitting down IMHE.

I love everything about it except the pickups. That is a hard shape to get replacements/upgrades for. I would have preferred an EMG shaped housing or something
