Just a general review of YOUR least favorite aspects of talkbass forum/classifieds.
There are a lot of really wonderful parts here, be it the user's interactions with each other, the ability to find your dream instrument or the vast collective knowledge of the users.
Talkbass is kind to the fledgling bassist seeking knowledge is a crucial point of admiration for this sites purpose.
So the counter is what can be better.
I have my opinions, what are yours?
This is a fantastic question! It needs to be asked by more companies/organization at ongoing intervals. The one and only thing I do not like about TalkBass (and also several other forums) is the amount of non-helpful chatter in any of the posts. This IS the reason that people ask the same question over and over. This IS the reason the answer is "Check out this post {insert URL link}" or the really unwelcoming "Do your own research". How many of y'all wasted hours and hours scrolling through 10-30 extra pages? All those one-liners or one word sarcastic comments that have nothing to do with the original post. It really takes down the perceived quality that this site has to offer. The "trash-talk" is unprofessional, distances yourself from your professional acquaintances, and makes it a time sucker to find any valid answer.
My solution: Give the original poster the ability to delete comments that do not discuss or solve the content.
