That doesn’t work for me. That’s not ignoring. That’s seeing you and covering my ears. I’m not mad about it, but the thread asked and I answered.

1. The occasional know-it-alls. It's a hazard when dealing with a demographic that skews older.

2. Folks reacting to mildly negative comments about their gear as if you took a dump on their mother's grave.

Related to this, the inevitable de-evolution of all threads where the original post was thoughtfully worded and all additional posts by the OP subsequently ignored. This usually takes the form of unsolicited advice from members on a topic about which advice was not being asked. A subspecies of this issue is the questions asked, promptly answered, and the 20 pages of additional advice that follows. This was at one point manageable with edits to announce that your question has been answered, but, as @JRA has pointed out, that is no longer possible. Which is the third thing I am unhappy about, as many of you know.

I actually find that totally fascinating for some reason. We're all performers, many of whom are impatient to express ourselves, and often forget to pretend to care about what anyone else has to say. I think it's honest and revealing. It's probably a dynamic that non-musicians in our lives have had to tolerate - here we do it to one another.

Edit: This forum is ridiculously awesome. Any faults are tiny little things. The mods and admins do a fantastic job of keeping it "clean" around here.

I get that not everyone has time to read 20 pages, but usually the question is answered quickly and, if not, you'd kind of assume someone in those 20 pages was able to help
