Leave combo amp in the car?

My wife makes me practice in the trunk.

I leave all kinds of amps and cabs in my car regularly. No other way to operate, to many gigs and rehearsals. I never leave my guitars though.

This. One cabinet, backup head, music stand, and mic/cables bag stays in the back of the station wagon (covered) all the time. Load-in for a gig is the main head/cables in a bag, pedalboard, and basses. Doing 100+ gigs a year the less moving in/out of the house the better.

For me, fewer gigs and smaller car. My speaker, amp bag, and music stand sit in the garage next to my car, year round. Only the stringed instruments get special treatment.

Only problem I ever had leaving gear in the enclosed trailer year-round was a Line6 HD400 head. From the cold trailer to the warm room, no sound from the cab all night, although the rest of it worked, so we just turned it up in the drum monitor for the stage to hear.

Over night in the house, and it worked again. This happened twice, as someone packed it in the trailer as had been usual and I didn’t catch it.

Actually I had trouble with a couple of the LED lighting units that would light up, but wouldn’t flash or anything, so I’d have to bring those in, as well.

Sounds like leaving it in the car isn't a big deal. Good to know. I guess it would be similar to all the guys with huge subs and power amps in their trunks.

Cold--- no problem. If extreme (around 0 degrees), let warm up a bit before turning on. Dry with fan if condensation appears.

Hot--- if extreme, could soften glue on speakers and dry out cone.

I typically gig on the weekend with a practice on Monday nights. Lucky enough to have space at my office to set up the bass gear for some lunch time practice, just wondering what the opinions are on leaving my amp (GK MB112-ii) in the car - parked in the garage - overnight on the weekends. I always take the bass in and out, but it's starting to get down to the 30s at night here and thought I may need to start bringing the amp in and out as well.

My bass rig lived in my van for years and it was never a problem.

But, my GK MB115 combo amp only weighs 35lbs so load in/setup/load out only takes a few minutes, so I usually don’t leave it the car - but I have, and I haven’t had any problems.
