leaving instrument cable plugged in on an amp - any problems?

& I turn vol & gain down to zero before I turn on & turn off. I leave the amp on for a minute before I pick up the instrument & touch the volume, but I don't standby before turning off.
I use a Sure wireless unit. The receiver stays plugged in the amp unless being packed for a gig. No issues.
I always unplug. It creates strain on the jack over time if you dont. Especially if it's a horizontal jack. Even vertical ones go bad eventually. The only amp I always leave plugged in at all times is the Ampeg B50R I have at home. Just becasue. The jack on that is already sorta chinsey so it's not like it matters anymore. But I do keep the cable looped around and underneath the handle so it creates as little pressure as possible. But other than that, I always unplug my amps.
I haven't read the whole thread and have no intention of doing so, but why on earth do people feel the need to continue to create/perpetuate these kinds of absolute garbage myths...
Oh I think there are way better examples on the big boards. Ones that have nothing to do with bass playing what so ever.This thread seems to be proof that TB will debate anything.
At home I leave the cable plugged into my practice amp all the time.... but I use a B3.... When out it all depends on how far from the amp I am playing. I usually leave my bass on a stand by the amp but if the bass is more than 5+ feet give or take from the amp I will unplug it.
I'm quite sure the jack on my amp has less spring to it now after leaving it plugged in for 6 months.
I've recently started unplugging after every use.
The reason I feel this way is that I found an amp just like mine at Sam Ash on Monday & the jack was much more springy than mine at home.
I was actually a little surprised at how much force it took to put the plug in.

Plugging and unplugging also serves to keep the contact surfaces clean. As small as the instrument signal is, it takes very little dirt or corrosion to affect it badly.

Well there's good news, the springiness is returning.
After only a few days of leaving it unplugged most of the time it has snapped back a bit.
