You can't possibly believe that last sentence. It's a classic solo but it's certainly not anything difficult.

I also enjoy their first album and play it frequently. Music from those days where the entire album had one theme is just my cup of tea. And, every kid in a band back then had to take a stab at IN-A-GODDA-DA-VIDA. Great stuff.

Back in the 70's, and still today, Wishbone Ash was one of my favorite bands. Wore their albums out one after another. So when I saw them live a couple times I was pleased that they played their songs almost exactly the same as they had recorded them. Vocals, bass lines, guitar duets, everything. I considered this an accomplishment since it is not easy to duplicate everything you have done in the studio.

i wanna bring this thread back.

i went out and bought the cd of inn-a-gadda-da-vida because i wanted the whole 17 minute orgy instead of the 4 minute edited version that can be found on i-tunes. i've never heard anything else by iron butterfly except inna gadda da vida (i mean who has?), but i thought some of there stuff most be decent. wow, they had there **** together huh? lee dorman also blew me away, his basslines are really good.

also the drum solo is really quiet good. usually i can't stand drum solos, especially bonhams (which were crap really), but this one is tasteful and worth listening to.

I consider him one of the very finest bassists to record in the 60's and 70's. His lines were inventive, melodic, and rhythmically sophisticated.

A desert island album for me. Xmas 1973, I got Sufficiently Breathless...so disappointed. No Bobby Caldwell & such a departure from the debut.
Over time, though, I have come to really like it a lot.
Same kinda thing happened with Led Zeppelin III. At one point, my least favourite LZ album, now it's up there.
