Lee Sklar posted a few picks on his FaceBook page last week.. I just grabbed them to share with you. Here they are.

anyone got a pic of Lee's bass?

I'm half way there with my modified Yamaha BB400 that I bought just for this purpose. I just have to get the neck pickup moved up a bit. Thanks for the detailed photos.

Hey your bass looks a lot like the one Yamaha made for Lee as a backup for his Frankenstein bass. He posted this and a few others to his FaceBook page recently. I wonder why the pickups aren't reversed...

Electra almost got it right, but the pickups are too close to the bridge. Everything needs to come maybe "one half of a pickup" forward toward the neck to mimic Lee's pickup position.

I just got an older beat-up G&L SB-1 that already was missing its pickguard and original pickup. It will soon be a Sklar double reverse P and I plan on using it as my main band practice bass.

Resurrecting an old thread ...
Here's mine. I built this tribute bass this summer after doing tons of research. Came out great. It's nice and light (8.2 lbs) and balances beautifully. Sounds great too!

I'm thinking this with a Curtis Novak BS-DS (darkstar) between the 2Ps would be pretty sweet! With a switch or pickup selector to select just the darkstar, or just the 2Ps ...

Anyone have a wiring diagram for something like this?

I would suppose it could use something along the lines of:

Just swap wiring for the neck and middle or bridge and middle to be able to select the middle pickup by itself. I suppose there are other (possibly better) wiring options ...

Sounds cool. I've thought about putting a Rickenbacker pickup in the middle, mounted to the wood cover. That space is in the sweet spot, so a P pickup would sound great too, or maybe even a soap bar. I'd think that a Darkstar pickup might be a little too wide to fit in that area.

Put the Darkstar in the sweet spot and mount the Ps directly adjacent to this? Measurements may be off a little. There's always Curtis Novak's EB0 sized EB-BS Bisonic like pickup. That should fit.

This is beginning to tempt me to build a Sklar like double P and a Darkstarred J. Or a triple P selectable between sweet spot or Sklars.
